Blog Candy with a Twist!

Hooray I've managed to make a card at last my mojo has seriously disappeared, that & the fact that I've been working extra cos we are soo short staffed meant a definite lack of crafting lately. But I managed to make this card for Karen at Crafty Goings On's challenge to "make a card that either uses a download or stamped image that you have coloured in".

This card is for my very dear friend Kelly's birthday (it's not til May but when I saw this download I thought it would be perfect for her). The image is from Charmed Cards & Crafts & is called "Girls About Town". I coloured the image with my distress inks added some photo corners, punched flowers, gems, ribbon & a greeting. The papers are from Pink Petticoat.

(Sorry about the blurry photos again I forgot I was going to get hubby or son to take photo to see if they were any less shaky than me lol).

Kaboodle Doodles Sketch Challenge

I'm late in posting this cos life is getting in the way of crafting again lol. This time most of it is good though, we had a lovely weekend in Kent with our son Craig, his partner Zoe & 2 gorgeous grandchildren Ryan & Abigail. Work is still pants unfortunately but I'm still (just) managing not to let it get to me. The plan to fit more crafting in hasn't actually materialised yet lol

The Kaboodle Doodles challenge this week is a fab sketch by Andrea. I used the Kaboodle Doodles All Star & Skulls kits, the image was coloured in with Twinking H2os & finished off with brads & ribbon. The photo is rubbish again, I think I'll have to get someone else to take my photos I'm obviously too shakey lol!

More Challenges! :o)

Hooray I've managed to join some more challenges :o) I love this cute Tilda image & I am in desperate need of a bookmark cos I've just started reading again (it is hard to fit everything in though so I think it could be a while before I finish the book).

For this bookmark I managed to combine another 5 challenges:-
Colour Create - Orange, Yellow & Green (option of something other than a card)
Our Creative Corner - Use a Doodle
A Spoon Full of Sugar - Torn Edges
Lili of the Valley - Bright & Beautiful lol
Cupcake - Spring

I used Polar Bear Press double sided card stock & the yellow paper is from Papermania/Docrafts (which I've had for ages & hardly ever use). The image is by Magnolia, coloured in with Prismacolours & Glamour Dust added to her wings. I finished off with some ribbon, staples, chipboard flower, button & some doodle stamps.

Mother's Day Card

Hooray it's Sunday & the sun is shinning, I really hope Spring is on the way :o)

Mother's Day is always a funny time of the year for me (as are many other occasions) because I lost my Mum when I was 20 & it's something you never get over. But anyway I've made this card for my Mother-In-Law Joy who is a treasure. I managed to combine 5 challenges for this card:-

Whiff of Joy - Lavender & Lace
My Time to Craft - Hats!
Charisma Cardz- Pretty Cards/Pretty Cards for Mum
ABC - Distressing
Sketch & Stash - I used their fab sketch

The papers are from the Papermania "Amethyst Infusion" stack, the images are from my fantastic new(ish) WOJ Spring set coloured with Prismacolor pencils. I added self adhesive lace, a white flower which I chalked lilac, some punched flowers with gems & finished off with a button covered with Glamour Dust & a printed greeting.

Friday Sketchers Challenge

Well I started making this card Monday & was hoping to finish it yesterday but I had a peculiar day yesterday - I've been having problems with my eyes for a lil while but was hoping that they would get better (as you do) but they had got worse the last week so I went & saw the Doctor (who is also a work colleague) before I started work & she sent me to the hospital just to check there was nothing sinister & luckily all was fine so I've just got to go to the Optician to find out what is going on. I had an unexpected afternoon off from work cos the drops they put in your eyes that make it blurry & hard to focus. It was nice (strange but nice) having the time off & it probably did me good having a break from the computer (at work & home lol).

So anyway the card got finished today: I used the Friday Sketchers fab sketch, the stamped image is from the fabulous Whiff of Joy Spring set, which I adore (she is coloured in with distress inks). The papers are from Basic Grey, the flower stamp was free with a magazine & I added Liquid Pearls (I always forget to use these lol), the sentiment is a sticker from Brenda Pinnock & I finished the card off with some punched flowers, gems & a ribbon.

3 Challenges :o)

I managed to make a card today (& I'm half way through another one but that will have to be finished tomorrow). I used another Elzybells stamp & coloured it in with my Prismacolor pencils (I used chalk for the sky). The sketch is from the Jehkotar Card Challenge & the challenge on Cute Card Thursday is "Animal Magic" & "Animals" on the Charisma Cardz blog. The paper is from Funky Hand & I finshed off with a stamped greeting, flowers, brads & a ribbon. Ooh yeah & a bone button!

Colour Create meets i{heart}2stamp

I made this card last night but had to wait for some daylight to photo it (though looking at it you'd never know it was daylight lol). I used the sketch from i{heart}2stamp blog which I've just discovered. The theme for this weeks Colour Create challenge is "Blue & Brown". I used my gorgeous Elzybells girl on a swing stamp (it was a christmas pressie but this is the first time I've had chance to ink her up). The papers & flowers are from Kaboodle Doodles Morris Dance kit (I can't stop using these papers I love them!). Just finished the card off with a sticky lace border & some Glamour Dust.

Vintage Kaboodle Doodles

This week's Kaboodle Doodles challenge is "Vintage". KD have some gorgeous papers that really lend themselves to this. I used papers from their "Old" & "Green" kits. The stamp is one of my favourites which I got from an American website & it's by Great Impressions but there is no name. I lightly watercoloured parts of the image & added chalk to others. The peel-off butterfly was stuck on to velum & cut out & I didn't stick the wings down to give a bit of dimension. The card was finished off with a shrink plastic butterfly & a small tag with brad.

I'm really gonna try & do more crafting/blogging in future as it makes me happy/relaxed but work has been soo busy I've been too tired and that's when I really need it lol.

Penny Black meets Friday Sketchers

This card was made for the Penny Black Saturday challenge (I'm early this time!) which this week is "Get Well Soon" using the Friday Sketchers sketch.

The Penny Black stamp is called "arrangement!" & the papers are from Funky Hand. I've added flowers, which were a Christmas pressie from my dear friend Linda, with brads, sticky ribbon & a greeting from Pink Petticoat.

Hooray It's Saturday!

Well it's Saturday :o) but where has the day gone? It's been quite nice weather though which is always a bonus. The day has been a mixture of shopping, housework & crafting (you can guess which was the most enjoyable lol).

This card was made using the Mojo Monday sketch, it's the first time I've used one of their sketches (I think) & I used the gorgeous new Kaboodle Doodles "Morris Dance" papers which I love. I also cut out flowers from the papers as embellishments & added a bit of Glamour Dust to the centres. The image is one of the new Wiff of Joy images which I coloured with Distress inks, it's the first time I've done this & I really like the look so think I will be using them lots more.

Penny Black Sketch

Thank goodness it's Friday! I can (try) & forget the awful week I've had a work & look forward to the weekend. I always think Friday night is one of the best things about the weekend cos you've got it all to come lol. I started this card last night but was too tired to finish it but I've managed it now.

This is Anniversary card was made using the Penny Black Saturday Challenge sketch which I really like. The papers are all Designs by Krista. The heart stamp was free with a magazine, the greeting is Pink Petticoat & I finished the card off with 3 heart gems. Ooh not forgetting the gorgeous Penny Black stamp which is called "You're a Treasure"to which I added a bit of Glamour Dust to :o)

New WOJ Spring Stamps!

Hooray my new Wiff of Joy Spring Collection stamps arrived yesterday & the are all gorgeous. Luckily today is my day off so I had time to have a little play. This card was made using the A Spoon Full of Sugar sketch. The papers are Basic Grey, all the stamps (the girl, the tree stump, the butterfly & the greeting) are from Wiff of Joy. The ribbon is from Brenda Pinnock & a couple of flowers with brad & bead spacer were added to finish the card off. I love these stamps & I can't wait to make lots more cards with them!

Pollycraft meets Sketch Saturday

How lovely to have a day off especially at the moment when work is cr**p & I am really fed-up :o(
I've been messing about with papers & bits & pieces most of the day: colouring in, cutting out etc Unfortunately the day is almost over (why do day offs & weekends go faster than any other day? it's always puzzled me lol).

I made this card using the fab Sketch Saturday sketch & the Pollycraft challenge is "Pink", I'm hoping they'll let me off the blue jeans. The Pollycraft stamp is Mary Lou "Big Surprise" - she is actually sitting on a present but I masked that off cos I wanted her sitting on the edge of the circle. The papers are by PaperMania & I finished the card off with flowers, brad, charm, chipboard & some Glamour Dust.

I'm in the middle of making another card so hopefully I will have time to get that finished tonight too.

Willow Sketchie Challenge

This card was made for the Willow Sketchie challenge. It is a fab sketch by Dawny P & as always there is twist which is: There has to be at least one thing on it that is not totally flat and there has to be some doodling on it somewhere. I've decoupaged the Daisy rabbit (from Sharon's fab new download) & I think I have gone overboard with the faux stitching lol. The papers are also included with the download & I finished the card off with a sentiment, ribbon, button & another Daisy peeping over the top of the circle.
I promise the card is straight I just couldn't scan it straight & it's too late for a photo.

The Sugar Bowl Challenge

This is the first time I've entered the Sugar Bowl challenge which this week is "0ne" - to use only one piece of patterned paper.

I used gorgeous Basic Grey paper & made a lace border. The image is Claudia by Sugar Nellie which I coloured with Prismacolor pencils (as usual). The sentiment is by Cuddly Buddly stamped onto a punched flower with the edges inked & I added some stamped leaves & a heart gem. The card is finished off with some stamped flourishes, a smaller punched flower & some more gems.

Kaboodle Doodles Sketch Challenge

Wow those 2 weeks went past really quickly. There is a sketch challenge on Kaboodle Doodles this week by Andrea (the Gaffer). I had great fun making this card - the fact it's got cupcakes & ice cream sundaes on probably had a lot to do with it lol. I used papers from the Kaboodle Doodles "Party Picnic" & "Pink & Blue" kits. The image is from Pink Petticoats new download "Sweet Sundaes" which I coloured in with Prismacolor pencils & added Glamour Dust to. I used my Martha Stewart Lace punch to make a border & added a sentiment & another lil cupcake from the paper. I really like this card but I'm not sure about the stamped flourish.

Pink Petticoat Gift Pouches

I made these gorgeous little Gift Pouches for the challenge on Pink Petticoat. They give you the instructions to make these cute little "Sour Cream Containers" as they are called in the USA. I've made a couple & filled them with Jelly Beans for little Valentines gifts. I can't remember the name of the papers used (as I have soo many Pink Petticoat papers) but the flowers are from the Little Fleur collection (I think). I used my Crop-a-Dile for the eyelets & added pink ribbon & a PP sentiment.

The Double Dutch challenge at the moment is anything but a card so this fits & also the Arty Girlz challenge is "Flowers"

Love Birds (**V**)

I made this card for my fab hubby Mark for Valentines Day. I used the sketch from A Spoon Full of Sugar. The gorgeous papers which I inked the edges of are from Designs by Krista's "Adore & Cherish" kits & nearly all her kits are HALF price at the moment! The cute birdie design is a free download from Pollycraft which I coloured in with Prismacolor pencils & used chalk for the sky. The word Love (also from Designs by Krista has brads in & is attached with 3d foam & the card is finished off with a covered chipboard heart. The challenge over on My Time to Craft is "A Little Birdie Told Me!"

I'm trying to blog this while watching Dancing on Ice lol (while the adverts are on). Can't believe the weekend's almost over again :o(

2 More Challenges!

I've managed to squeeze in one more card before bed :o)

This card was made for the Colour Create 1st challenge which is "Pink, Green & Brown"(I think I'm just in time) & using the sketch from Sketch Saturday. The papers & brad are Basic Grey & I made a lil circle flower, I've been meaning to make these for ages. The image is Pink Petticoat which I chalked & Glamour dusted (& I used my Nesties again too). I didn't think it needed any more embellishing cos of the the pretty flower paper.

Another Valentines Card!

This Valentines card was made for my amazing lil grandson Ryan (Abigail's big brother). I make him a card most weeks but always with cars on (& especially Peugeots lol) so I thought for Valentines I would ring the changes, hopefully he will like it (We have bought him a few toy cars so he won't be completely car-less).

The papers are from Hot of the Press, the dinosaur was a free download from Pollycraft, it's not on the site anymore but there is a fab birdie download on there (& lots of other fab stuff) & the challenge on their blog is love so this fits. I added more Dazzle Dust & covered a chipboard heart. The Jehkotar challenge this week is not to use a stamped image & the Lili of the Valley challenge is for "Men" so hopefully a boys card will count :o)

4 Challenges :o)

Hooray it's the weekend, thank goodness what an awful week it has been at work but I'm going to forget all about it now (well try anyway). The sun is shinning & I've got time to do some crafting :o)

This Valentines card was made for my special lil granddaughter Abigail. The sketch is from Friday Sketchers, One Stop Craft challenge is "Circles" (& this is the first time I've used my Nestibilities & I love them!), Papertake challenge is "Hearts & Flowers" & the Everybody Art challenge is Valentines.

The papers & cute sheep are from Pink Petticoat, Abigail's mummy loves sheep so I'm sure she will too. I coloured the image with Prismacolor pencils added Glamour Dust (I can see myself getting addicted to using that stuff lol) & finished off with printed greetings, flowers, gem & a large heart brad.

It is nearly 2.00 & I haven't had lunch yet, I love getting engrossed with crafting the only trouble is the time goes way too quick lol

Card for Marie Curie Cancer Care Charity

I made this card using the Just Christmas & Birthday Cards sketch for the Marie Curie Cancer Care Charity, I will be making more (hopefully). For this one I used the Papermania Marie Curie 2009 Limited Edition Clear Stamp set (the daffodil & butterfly). The papers are Docrafts & English Paper Co I think. I finshed of with some fibres, padded heart, stamped greeting & glitter glue.

This is one of those cards that I made but I don't really like (especially the baking paper, the more I look at it the less I like it - time to stop looking I guess ;o)), in fact the only bit I do like is the lil butterfly fluttering lol.

Basic Grey Sketch

Hooray day off today, so much to do though (nothing new there then!) but I did manage to finish this card off that I started making on Sunday. It is using the fab Basic Grey sketch. The theme over at Dutch Dare is "Thank You". The gorgeous papers I used are "Sugared" & "Cupcake". The image is from Linda I believe :o). I finished off with some punched flowers, brads, covered chipboard flower & Stampin' Up greeting.

Leaving Card

My dear friend Joy is leaving work & has a new job. She has been fed up at work for ages & as nothing has changed she has decided to go :o(

I used the Friday Sketchers sketch & the image & papers are all from Pink Petticoat (I've not used them for a change so it made a nice change). I added some glitter glue, gems, ribbon, flower & button. The challenge at One Stop Craft challenge this week is "Buttons & Bows" & you have to use at least 1 button or 1 bow (I used 1 of each).

I've been putting some of my craft stuff up on eBay to try & make room for more crafty stuff lol but it takes sooo long I'm giving up for today & as I'm getting a bit peckish so time for tea I think. I might get the ironing done while I'm watching Dancing on Ice lol, we never watched it until last week & I haven't laughed so much for ages.

Kaboodle Doodles Challenge Relaunch Today!

The Kaboodle Doodles challenge blog has been revamped & is looking fab. There will be a new challenge every 2 weeks & lots of lovely candy up for grabs.

This week's challenge is a nice easy one to begin with the theme of "Love". My card was made using the Kaboodle Doodles new "Scribble" papers which are perfect for Valentines (& Anniversary & any other time when you need to send a bit of lovin'). I used a cute Rachelle Anne Miller stamped image & added some crocheted flowers, a charm & some gems to finish off with.

It's perfect crafting weather today lol (just starting to snow) so I shall just stay in cutting & colouring etc. Ooh dear just remembered the ironing is still waiting to be done ;o)

An Afternoon Crafting

I've had great fun this afternoon crafting. Hubby was playing footy & I should have been ironing really but it will still be there tomorrow (unfortunately - why can't the ironing fairy come & do some for me while I'm asleep lol). I've had my music on & have been drawing, colouring, cutting, gluing, punching & stamping but why oh why does the time sooo much quicker at the weekend?

Here is a Door Hanger I made for my Grandson Ryan's room (though his room does double as a sort of 2nd craft room & I have to sort it out every time he comes to stay lol) using the Willow Sketchie sketch & this week Sharon also "wants to see you draw and cut out shapes from your patterned papers!". I used Funky Hand papers, I drew quite a few stars before I was happy with them. I've used 3 Willow Design stamps, Sakura glitter gel pens, brads & my Crop-a-dile for the eyelets for the hanger.

New Home Card

I made this card for my cousin Rae & her partner Roger who have just built their own house & moved in yesterday. (I must admit I am a little jealous, much as I LOVE my home I think it would be lovely to design & choose everything from scratch).

I used the fab Sketch from Sketch Saturday. The papers are Basic Grey (I'm really loving these at the moment, such good quality). I made a lil house & used the Wiff of Joy "Fall Grass" stamp for the background, punched some flowers & leaves, added some gems & finished off with a New Home sign. (ooh yes I also used my new Martha Stewart lace border punch).

I've Been Tagged! (Twice)

Thank you (I think) to Zoe & Rose.

Here are the rules:

1. Navigate to where you keep your pictures; select the 6th folder, and the 6th picture in that folder

2. Post the picture on your blog with an explanation about the picture.

3. Tag 6 others to do the same, and let them know they have been tagged!

This picture is of my gorgeous hubby Mark (he’s the one in the white shirt) & his brother Dale (the 6th folder is our son Stuart’s 18th Birthday folder).

Hmmm… who to pass this on to:

Jane

Louise

Lulu

Sally-Ann (check out her fab doodles)

Maria

& Caz

Phew ! That took me ages to post lol. Looking forward to seeing your photos girls :o)
