Card for a Very Special Woman

Today's Sentimental Sunday Challenge is "For a Special Woman".  As this side of the pond we have already celebrated Mothers Day (& sadly my Mum is no longer with us) I wanted to share a card a made for a very special person & dear friend who has been battling breast cancer & has been so strong & positive:  Jennifer Scull. The image I used was designed especially for Jennifer by Jellypark's wonderful illustrator Claire Keay. Bling It Up!

Di's Digi Challenge this week is "Show Us Your Bling" & I used one of Di's fabulous images called "Wendy's Bouquet" which I coloured with ProMarkers.  The papers are digi & I was going to do some machine stitching but my machine wouldn't work again so it ended up with paper piercing around the edges instead.  I used some Glamour Dust around the image & sentiment & finished the card off with a punched butterfly, ribbons, gems & pearls.  Our sponsor this time is Digi Darla :o)  I hope you can join us.

Sentimental Sundays on a Wednesday :o)

Here is my card for this week's Sentimental Sundays challenge which is "Paper Piecing" & we have a wonderful sponsor: The Paper Shelter! Those of you who follow my blog or even just visit occasionally will probably know that they are one of my very favorite sites for digital images & papers :o)  For my card I used "Birds Couple" & I paper pieced their bodies & the heart, the rest of the image is coloured with ProMarkers.  The papers are digi & I finished off with some punched flowers, rickrack, pearls & sentiment.

New Releases at Jellypark Today :o)

Today's new releases at Jellypark are "Flowers are like Friends" & "String of Hearts".  For my card I used Flowers are like Friends which I coloured with ProMarkers.  I added a die cut vine & bird house & finished off with the sentiment that comes with the image & some button flowers.  There is a new challenge at Jellypark Friends too which is "Girly Girl", a nice easy one for us girlies with lot's of scope for creativity :o)

I'm so glad it's Friday & a long weekend too - hubby & I are away for the weekend as it is our (29th) wedding anniversary on Sunday & I can't wait it will be nice to have a relaxing break away as work has been quite stressful lately.  I hope you've all had a great week & have something nice planned for the weekend.  We might even get some sunshine (fingers crossed).

Music Maestro!

Hooray for Wednesdays & a day off!  It is also the start of another fab challenge at The Paper Shelter & this week the theme is "Music Maestro!".  For my card I used TPS "Gypsy Dance" digi stamp (I didn't use the pre-coloured image for a change as I had a bit more time) & coloured it with ProMarkers adding little bit of Stickles glitter glue.  I distressed the edges & finished the card  with punched flowers & border, sequins, pearls & a sentiment.  If you're looking for more inspiration check out the fabulous DT samples :o)

Canvas Me This!

Yes this week's Sentimental Sundays challenge is "Canvas Me This" (with a sentiment) & if you would like to have a go at this fabulous technique our wonderful sponsor Just Some Lines have a tutorial HERE :o)  I didn't have a canvas so I used an old coaster:  I painted the edges of the coaster with gold acrylic paint, added some DP with the corners rounded & used a torn strip for a border.  The image is JSL Petite Pot - Getting In which I coloured with ProMarkers, I finished it off with sequins, pearls & a stamped ticket (or & some glitter glue on the wings).  I can't use it for my cuppa on it now but it makes a nice decoration for my craft room windowsill :D

Make It Bloom!

Wednesday again {hooray, it's my day off} & so it's time for a new challenge The Paper Shelter & this week it is "Make It Bloom".  Today's challenge is extra special too as because we have passed 1000 followers {thank you sooo much} we have 2 prizes:  the normal $30 gift voucher + a gift voucher worth $20 (whether or not you use TPS image or not!).  I kept my card really simple (& I'm not really pleased with it but lack of time & not feeling 100% meant it was the best I could manage at the time).  I printed TPS "Love Letters" image on to the base card & printed the window image again & overlayed it with the shutters not stuck down, just finishing off with some flowers, rickrack, stamped greeting & some gems.  I hope you will be able to join us :D

It's a Tag!

Late Runner...This Week's Challenge at The Paper Shelter

Hello, I hope you all had a lovely Easter, we did visiting our son, DIL & 3 precious grandchildren :D  The problems started when we got home first hubby had a really awful tummy bug & then I got it even worse :o(  It has been a horrible week & worse because we both had the week off work with a list as long as your arm of things we wanted/needed to do to the house.  It's Friday evening & I'm still not feeling 100% but am keeping my fingers (& toes) crossed that I have some energy back so we can do at least something tomorrow..............Hence my challenge at The Paper Shelter post being late (& I wasn't able to do make my Jellypark card at all boohoo!).  This week's challenge is "Use a Doily(s)".  I made a wedding card using "The Happy Couple" digi.  I ruched some ribbon & finished the card with a doily (of course, though I have been known to completely forget the theme of the challenge until my card is finished & then have to try & fit it in somewhere lol), punched heart, pearl heart, flowers & greeting cut from DP.  As always our very generous sponsors are Veronica and Pedro of The Paper Shelter and they are offering a fabulous prize of $30. for you to spend on their website here.

New Sentimental Sundays Challenge

Today's Sentimental Sundays challenge is "Stitching (real or faux, with a sentiment).  I did lots of random machine stitching on my card (I love this look) & luckily the sewing machine was already threaded with the perfect matching thread to my papers :D.  I did some distressing around the edges of the papers (which are digi), the image is from Pink Petticoat (coloured with ProMarkers) & I finished the card with some lace, a punched tag & a gem.  Our sponsor this week is Meljens so you could win yourselves some wonderful images.

Happy Mother's Day to those of you who are celebrating today.  We took the In Laws out for a meal (it is their anniversary today as well) & our youngest son Stuart came :o) (our eldest son Craig lives quite a way away & unfortunately my Mum is no longer with us) & very tasty it was too (+ no washing up, always a bonus!).  What ever you're doing I hope you're having a lovely day - it's just a shame that the weekends go sooo quickly.

Sentimental Sundays Fairies Challenge

Well actually the new Sentimental Sundays challenge is "Fairies with Wings" but I have never seen a fairy without wings lol.
