New Arrivals at Squigglefly

I hope you're all having a fab Saturday - it's been a really busy week so I haven't had as much time as I would like to spend crafting. Luckily  we are on holiday now but are having the grandchildren next week so will have even less time for crafting - I'm trying to get organised this weekend (I also apologise   for not being able to do so much commenting either).

However I've managed to made a card with one of the fab new images from Squigglefly.  They have new images added every Saturday & being on the DT I'm lucky enough to get some to play with.  This image is by Cheryl Algar & called "Boys Rule".  I coloured the image with ProMarkers, the papers are digi (might be from Zoe Pearn) & I distressed all the edges & finished off with buttons, punched border.  The 100% Original ticket I had when I was on Kaboodle Doodles DT many moons ago :)

I'm entering this card for these challenges:
Sweet Stop - Sketch
Digi Doodle - Punch or Cut Me!
Crafty Angels - Something Old, Something New (old buttons, ticket & new image)
One Stop - Patterns
Stamp With Fun - Card for a Boy/Man

This week at For Fun we are being sponsored by The Stamping Boutique & the challenge is to use bright & summery colours.  The DT were lucky enough to be able to chose an image from TSB & I chose "Rainy Cynthia", isn't she cute :) I coloured her with ProMarkers, added Glamour Dust to her wings & Glaze Drops to the rain drops.  I also used of Sakura glitter pens, the papers & sentiment were free with a mag (which I have had for ages - isn't it satisfying to use something that has been in your stash forever lol).  The finishing touches were a brad, lots of fabric flowers & stars & some gems.

I'm entering this card for these challenges:

It's all Green at Donna's Den!

This fortnight's challenge at Donna's Den is "Green".  I used Popcorn the Bear again but this time the Floral CDrom which you can find here.  I really don't know what to call this card on the CD they call it an accordian card but this isn't what I think of as an accordian card but I don't know what else to call it lol.  It was very difficult to photo to but I hope you get the idea.  The flowers are made from a Squigglefly Poinsettia image, I just used the smaller petals & coloured them with ProMarkers, added a bit of sparkle & layered them up.  I finished the card off with a border peel off, lace & a ticket. The prize to one lucky winner this week is £10 to spend on crafty goodies at Donna's Den of Crafts :)  Also we have Zoe as guest designer for the next few months, which is very cool.

The challenge this week at For Fun is a sketch - I love sketches, they are great place to start & get the creative thought process going (not always easy!).  Fairy Knoll is our sponsor for this week & the lucky winner can win 3 of their beautiful images.  The image I used is called Becks & I coloured her with ProMarkers & the papers are from Designer Digitals.  The card is finished off with ribbon, flowers, punched leaves & stamped ticket.

It's time for another challenge at Squigglefly & this time the theme is "Beautiful Blooms".  I've used some gorgeous flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, lace border & bow, I made a shrink plastic charm by punching a circle of shrink plastic, stamping a design, colouring with Sakura glitter gel pen, punching a hole (heating with heat gun) & adding a gem.  The papers are digi as is the sentiment which was free from Rainbow Echo Designs.  I adore this image which is called "Lulu in Dance" by Cheryl Algar & coloured with ProMarkers.  There are plenty of freebies at Squigglefly if you haven't got any of their images yet - so there's no excuse not to play lol ;)

Lexi's Creations - Stitching Challenge

The challenge starting today at Lexi's Creations is to use stitching on your project, either real or faux.  I chose this theme cos I love using my sewing machine on my cards (though I might have gone a little overboard here lol).  Joanna Sheen is our wonderful sponsor yet again :)  For my card I used Lexi's Butterscotch image which I coloured with ProMarkers & went round the outline with a quickie glue pen & Glamour Dust.  The papers are from Dovecraft & called Fantasy.  The card is finished off with flowers, butterfly & stars charms, greeting & I used some peeloffs which have been sitting on my neglected for years lol.

The Stamp Man First ATC Swap

Well it isn't actually the first one but the first one for a few years - I used to do these years ago & have got several folders of these gorgeous little works of art.  In fact there is a link on the Stamp Man blog for inspiration & some of my ATC's are on there from 2006!  I haven't really got much spare time at the moment but really wanted to have a go again.  That said my ATC's didn't turn out anything like I imagined, I wanted them to be much more "arty" lol I should say that the first theme is "Wings".

I always use a cheap pack of playing cards for my base & for these I used a K&Co paper pad that I have had for ages (that might be where I went wrong - I've prob not used it cos it not my fav lol).  The stamped butterfly is from Anna Griffin (I do love that stamp though).  I did some machine stitching & various other stamping with a 3 tone Brilliance ink pad (Peacock), they all have punched borders, gems & lots of sparkle.  (Sorry for the rubbish photos, it was windy in the garden & I really struggled to get a decent photo).

I'm entering these ATC's for these challenges:
Create4Fun - Anything but a Card
Creative Inspirations - On the Move
Incy Wincy - Punches
Gingersnap Creations - Shades of Blue

Hope you're all having a great weekend.  We had a lovely long walk by the river in the glorious sunshine yesterday & today we biked to the local car boot (& spent 74p lol).

Ahoy Matey...

I made this card for a work colleague's birthday.  The image is from Kerry Jo which is on a CD rom which I got from Create & Craft (you can get it from Debbie Moore's site too).  There are some fab images on there & I have been dying to use it. I used my ProMarkers & added some Glamour Dust around the image.  The papers are digi (from either Designer Digitals or the Sweet Shoppe I think).  I did lots of distressing, the greeting is computer generated & the little map is from Lexi's Doodles.  I finished the card off with some ribbon, punched & distressed flower, brad & gems.

More Christmas in July!

I'm trying desperately to catch up with my crafting as Wednesday is my day off :) Hubby has been off work after an knee op & he's back to work tomorrow so we went out for the day which was really  lovely but now I'm trying to get all my crafting/blogging done extra quickly (which is almost impossible lol), while trying not to look at all the housework that needs doing.

On to the card - I thought I'd make an easel card as I haven't made one for ages: I used Dovecraft's Contemporary Christmas papers & decoupage which you can get from Donna's Den (I do like those papers & they such a bargain).  I inked the edges with Brilliance gold ink, used 2 different ribbons & finished off with 2 matching brads, a poinsettia, some tinsel & Stickles glitter glue.  I used my Martha Stewart star punch for the border.

I'm entering this card for these challenges:

For Fun - Little Book

This week's challenge at For Fun is to make a little book, which is super easy & Helen gives you instructions so there's no excuse not to have a go (unless you're too busy or can't be bothered lol).  I used my Ultimate Pro to measure & score the lines which made it even easier.  Then I stamped flowers (these are Enchanted Floral by Stampabilities), paper pieced the flowers, coloured the foliage with Sakura glitter pens & finished off with ribbons, staples & gems.  Why not check out the other DT members blogs for more inspiration :)

I'm entering this little book for these challenges:

New Images at Squigglefly Every Saturday

Every Saturday there are new images added to the Squigglefly shop & being on the DT I was lucky enough to get some to play with:  this image is called Cool Dolphin & is by Mark Hicks.  I paper pieced the image using silver for his glasses.  The papers are digi (sorry can't remember which ones, I have so many I do tend to loose track lol) with the edges inked with Brillance ink.  I made some pinwheels (using squares of double sided paper cutting from each corner nearly to the middle, folding every over corner in & to the middle fastening with a brad).  The greeting was free from Pink Cat Studio.  I finished off with some Glamour Dust.

I'm entering this card for these challenges:

Creative Inspirations - Paper Piecing

My First Challenge at Squigglefly :)

Today is my first DT card for Squigglefly's challenge blog. It's a nice easy one to break us newbies in lol because it's an OPEN challenge so anything goes.  You do need to use a Squigglefly image but with so many fab designers & images to choose from that shouldn't be too hard.  I used an image called Birthday Cake Maisie by Diane Carubia which I coloured with ProMarkers. I distressed the edges of the papers & finished off with a felt border, flowers, punched leaves (there is a punched border to the paper too but I obscured it with the flowers lol), a greeting, brad & pearls.

I'm entering this card for these challenges:
One Stop - Distressing
Bunny Zoe - Nice & Girly
Rosie D's - Summer Birthdays
A Pocket Full of Posies - One for the Girls
