New Found Love...Mini Albums (**V**) (warning: lots of photos)

Today is my turn to choose the theme for this week's Sentimental Sundays challenge & I chose "Vintage/Steampunk" & I had in my head I wanted to make something with an Alice in Wonderland feel.  I had a wonderfully illustrated book when I was little & it was my fav.  I saw THIS printable album online & fell in love with it.  It took me ages to make but I thoroughly enjoyed it.  I added a few other images I bought on Etsy & added some ribbons, charms, ink & liquid embossing.  I would love to make for mini albums but I really don't have much free time at the moment :o( (I did make a toilet paper roll album for a swap which I will blog at a later date but I don't like it as much as this one).  I haven't shown all the photos (but there are still lots lol), I hope you get the idea :o)

A Bit of Shrink Plastic...

I haven't had much time for crafting lately & things were starting to get on top of me a bit but I wanted to make something for this week's Sentimental Sundays challenge & I wanted it to be different but it also had to be quick - well this was the plan!  I spent hours yesterday fiddling about with shrink plastic, first it was the wrong dimensions (though in the end I had to go with this one), then it just didn't look right & finally when I thought I was nearly there the Modge podge was too thick & made all the ink run :o(  So I went back to the first attempt though it wasn't quite right - (the image was printed onto printable shrink plastic),  I coloured it with pencils, stamped on the back & punched a hole for the jump ring (this is done before shrinking). Then I covered it with Modge Podge & added a sprinkling of Glamour Dust.  Our challenge is "Add a Doodle to it" & we are sponsored by the wonderful Scribbles Designs & I used Flower Doodle 6.  I hope you can find time to join us.  Happy Mother's Day to all those who are celebrating today :o)  I'm spending the morning with youngest son & then at the MIL for dinner tonight.

The Jellypark Friends new challenge is "Mothers Day/Special Lady".  I used this cute "Breakfast in Bed" digi stamp which is only £1.50 & all the money goes to a wonderful charity "The Willow Foundation".  I coloured my card with ProMarkers & paper pieced her dress, finishing off with lace, ribbon, flowers & a brad.  This card is going to my Mother-in-Law Joy who is a special lady.  Unfortunately I lost my Mum almost 30 years ago just before I got married & I still miss her.  I hope all of you that are Mums have a lovely day Sunday.

Yes this week's challenge at Sentimental Sundays is cute & cuddly (+ a sentiment).  We are sponsored by MilkCoffee & I used this cute "Charlotte with Flower& Bird" digi which I coloured with ProMarkers, the papers are MME Howdy Doody (I love these) & I finished the card with flowers, pearls, doily & sentiment.  I'm back to work normal hours from today (I was on phased return for the last 2 weeks after breaking my wrist) & went on my bike for the first time, I was a bit apprehensive but it was fine (actually I felt better than I thought it would).  Please check out the other DT members creations for more inspiration & I hope you can join us :o)

A Little Happiness Everyday :o)

Today I'm sharing a children's Filofax that I have altered.  I used various papers which I distressed, the 2 images are from Crafty Individuals Miniatures "People & Places" pad & I added some lace, flowers, doily & stamped twill tape. I'm using this Filofax to write everyday something that made me happy (it's very therapeutic) though I must admit some days are easier than others lol.

Sentimental Sundays Challenge

This week's Sentimental Sundays challenge is "Cards for Boy/Man" (or LO, tag, book, box etc + a sentiment).  We are sponsored by QKR Stampede & the DT were lucky enough to be able to choose an image.  I chose this "Painter" image which I love.  I coloured him with ProMarkers, it's the first time I've used them since breaking my wrist :o)  The papers are from Pink Petticoat & I added a stamped sentiment, button & twine.  We all need cards for those awkward men (this card will be perfect for my uncle who is an artist) so I hope you will join us.

Bits & Bobs...

I'm Getting There :o)

Well it's six weeks today since my op (to have metal plate put in my wrist) & I can manage to type with 2 hands for a few minutes :o)  I'm seeing the Doc today (who is also my boss!) about going back to work next week (phased return), so things are slowly getting back to normal.  

As it's time for a new challenge at Jellypark Friends I managed to make a card, well actually the card was already made I just changed the image & added some doilies which I cut on my Silhouette Portrait (a pressie to cheer me up lol).  The link to the cut file is HERE if you're interested.  I used one of my very favourite Jellypark images "Fairy Sitting in Grass" & coloured it with chalks, using Glamour Dust on the wings.  Jellypark has brand new shiny website & I hope you'll take a look & also join us for our challenge which is "Things With Wings".

A Little Bit of Crafting...

I have soo missed crafting since breaking my wrist (& having an operation to have a metal plate put in) 4 weeks ago & can't wait to get back to normal (it's gonna take a while unfortunately).  I did manage to make these 2 ATCs more or less one-handed for this weeks Sentimental Sundays challenge which is "Pack a Punch" (with a sentiment).  The papers are Papermania Portobello Road & I used die cuts & stamps & finished them with a bow, brads & Glamour Dust.  I used a corner punch to round the corners.  I hope you can join us :o)  No challenges this time; it's taken me long enough to write this lol.

Hello everyone hope all is well.  Unfortunately I'm gonna be out of crafty (& almost every other sort) action for a while as I've broken my left wrist.  I fell off my bike last Wednesday & had operation on Friday to have a metal plate put in.  Luckily I'm right handed so it could have been worse, I can manage to type & I'm trying to do as much as I can (slowly) but there's lots I can't do.  It is very frustrating as there's lots I want to do but I will have to save my ideas until my wrist is better & look online (eg.  at all your fab blogs) for lots of inspiration :o) xxx

New Sentimental Sundays Challenge...

This week the Sentimental Sundays challenge is "Its a BUGGY Bugs Life" (with a sentiment).  We are sponsored by The Doodle Garden so you have the chance to win some gorgeous images.  For my card though I went with a Jellypark coloured image from the "Butterfly Net" decoupage sheet.  I used to feel guilty using pre-coloured images & felt like I was cheating lol but I've come to realise that sometimes there just isn't enough time & you can still be creative even if you haven't coloured the image yourself :o)  I love this image & I inked the edges with Brilliance ink, used lace & punched a flower border.  The paper is from TPS & I finished off with some wooden embellishments & a computer generated sentiment.  I hope you will join us & don't forget there is the chance to win some fabulous images too.

Today's Sentimental Sundays challenge is "Make it New" ie. alter something (+ a sentiment) - I must admit I forgot the sentiment this time but I think I just got away with it with the "Lavender" words on the ribbon (fingers crossed lol).  Our fab sponsor is A Day For Daisies & I used their "Flowers in Bottle" digi which I coloured with chalk (I'm liking using chalk at the mo for a change).  I used an old baked beans tin & covered it with a bit of paper from stash, added the ribbon (which is also recycled as it was tied round some toiletries).  We have a huge DT now so there is lots & lots of inspiration :o)

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Everyone :o) I hope you've all had a wonderful start to the year.  I've started doing my exercises again although I've not managed every day yet (I'm breaking myself in gently lol), it has been hard cos work has been so busy & I've had lots going on at home too - it's a start though.  I'm not liking all the choccies & biscuits that are left from Christmas & that  keep trying to get me to eat them, I think I'm gonna have to hide them somewhere.

Anyway as it is New Year our first challenge of the year at Jellypark Friends is "New Beginnings".  I chose this wonderful Wedding Car Couple digital stamp & coloured it with chalk & Prismacolor pencils.  The paper is from Papermania (I think) & I finished the card with pearls, ribbon, punched heart & a flower.   So whether you make a new job, new house, new baby... etc creation we would love to see it :o)

Christmas Month Reminder :o)

Wow! This is such a busy time for me (it is so annoying that I have to go to work lol) & it is a struggle to fit everything in.  But I did manage to make another couple of cards for the Jellypark Friends Christmas month long challenge.  The first image I coloured with ProMarkers, I used scraps of paper & punched a big flower, scrunched it up, covered it with Glamour Dust & added a button with twine.  I finished the card with a sentiment, pearl & some sequins (ooh & added a  If you've got any Christmas cards still to make (I have!) - or if you're starting for next year ;o) I hope you will join us.

My 2nd card uses "Penguin Christmas Tag" digital stamp which is also coloured with ProMarkers, I used glitter for the snow, a pompom for his hat & a brad & star.  The chipboard Christmas tree was inked & gems added.  The papers are MME & I finished the card with ribbon, twine & charm.
