I hope you've all had a lovely weekend :) I've been catching up with crafting & today we went to the In-Laws for dinner so that was nice (no cooking/washing up).

Not So Square!

I'm still trying to get back to normal & organised with my crafting not that easy but I am trying hard lol as I love being in my lil room & getting lost in my creating :D  I made this corner bookmark for this week's Di's Digi Challenge which is "No Squares Allowed".  I used Kraft card & folded to a point, I added some pearlescent card, punched butterflies, die cut butterfly border & lots of pearls.  This fab image is called "Window Bear" & I coloured it with ProMarkers.  We sponsored this week by the fab Digi Darla Designs .  The DT have come up trumps as always so please check out their wonderful creations & I hope you will join us :)

I'm Back & I Have Exciting News...

Hello everyone, sorry I've been AWOL but I have a very good excuse :D My eldest son Craig got married to his long-term girlfriend Zoe (they have 3 adorable children so it's about time they made it official lol ;) ).  We had a long weekend down in Kent (where they live & the wedding was) which was wonderful & the wedding day was just perfect in every way.  I will post photos soon for anyone who is interested. (I made some jewellery to go with my outfit & if you want a lil peek it is HERE :)

Those of you who follow my blog or visit me (thank you, I do appreciate it!) will know that I am part of the Jellypark design team & Claire our wonderful illustrator has generously made a CD full of her gorgeous images to be given free with this month's Complete Cardmaking magazine & the DT were asked to make some cards with the images on the disc - how cool is that!  I haven't actually seen the magazine yet (I ordered it yesterday & can't wait for it to arrive) & my card is on the front cover :D  While I'm talking about Jellypark Claire has started a Jellypark Club which will have lots of freebies & special offers for members.  This fortnight's challenge at Jellypark Friends is "Olympic Fever" if you fancy entering (you can use any image).

Oops I nearly forgot to tell you how I made the card ... or should I say buy the mag ;)  The papers were from my stash & I did some machine stitching around the edges.  The image was die cut & the edges inked & glittered (Glamour Dust).  I finished off with a doily, various flowers, pearls, punched butterflies & a stamped sentiment.

Christmas in July

This week's Jellypark Friends challenge is "Christmas in July" & I am so pleased as I haven't made a Christmas card for ages despite being determined to get ahead this year lol.  The image I used is called "Cute Penguin in Wooly Hat" & this is one of my favourite images :D  I coloured him with ProMarkers, the papers are digi.  I finished the card off with die cut border with Glamour Dust (Memory Box), punched greeting tags (Pink Petticoat), brads & some Flower Soft.  There is a fabulous new release for you to check out too.  I hope you can join us & get ahead with your Christmas cards too.

Pearls & Swirls

This week's challenge at The Paper Shelter is "Pearls & Swirls" & I used their cute image called "Too Cute To Be Afraid Of", I used the pre-coloured image due to lack of time (these are soo handy) & the sentiment comes with the set too :D.  The papers are digi & I did a little bit of machine sewing.  The swirly border is a Memory Box die & I finished off with flowers, pearls & Glamour Dust.  I hope you can join us & we also have a DT call going on so why not try out for that too :D (you've gotta be in it to win it lol).

It's Summer Time!

Well it has been warmer the last couple of days so I guess that counts & Di's Digi Challenge this week is "It's Summer Time" & it's nice to use some bright colours again.  The image I used is called "Molly Mouse & Puddles" & I thought it was very appropriate for the summer weather we've been having so far.  I coloured the image with ProMarkers & added Glamour Dust to the rain, the papers are digi & I finished off with a die cut umbrella, punched sun/flower thingy, brad, gems & chipboard.  Our sponsor this week is the fab Digi Darla.  If your looking for more inspiration why not check out the wonderful creations from the other DT members :D

As the title suggests this week's challenge at The Paper Shelter is "Punches &/or Dies" & I used this gorgeous image called "Cute Dressmaker" which I coloured with ProMarkers (but if you're in a hurry don't forget you get a pre-coloured version too).  The papers are called "Material Girl" & are by Cosmo Cricket, I did some machine stitching & finished off with some felt die cut buttons & a punched tag.

I hope you're all having a great week :) I had my minor op Monday on my infected root canal & it was a nightmare, I won't go into the gory details but all is well now (apart from my swollen face) & I just have to have the stitches out on Monday.  My mojo has gone walkabout which is very annoying as I have lots I want to do & I just can't get motivated :( 

Catching up...

I hope you've all had a good weekend & yours hasn't gone as quickly as mine lol.  I thought I'd catch up with a bit of blogging while hubby's out watching the England football match.  We've been off work & out & about so I have lots of crafty catching up to do.  You will pleased to know (if you're interested lol) that I got a dress & fascinator (well it just a bow on a headband really but it very pretty) for my son's forthcoming wedding (28th July) just gotta get jacket, shoes & bag now :S  

I also had to go to the dentist (again) while we were off & am slightly apprehensive as I have to have a lil minor op as I have an infection in my root canal - so I'm back to work tomorrow & when I finish at 2 it's straight to the dentist, what a great way to start the week!

Anyway that's what's been happening with me the past week & here is a couple of cards I made recently for my brothers birthday & Father's Day.  As I have been so short of time lately I used Pink Petticoat sentiments & papers - I am such a fan of Pink Petticoat & their designs lend themselves to CAS.  I used kraft card blanks & the papers are from the "Big Fella" collection & I just finished off with buttons, twine, punched stars & pearls.

This week's challenge at Jellypark Friends is "Let's Go Fly a Kite" & there are 2 fantastic new images released today too :D  I made a bookmark using Kraft card & my EK Success punch. I did some paper tearing for the grass & chalked the sky.  The cute image I used is called "Let's Fly Away" is coloured with ProMarkers & I used some gold cord for the kite string, finishing off with some punched corners. I hope you're all having a great week, I must admit this weather is making me a bit miserable (that & not having enough time to craft lol).  At least I have a day off today & the sun is trying to shine :D (it still cold though).

Relax & Take It Easy...

Here in the UK we have a 4 day weekend to celebrate the queen's diamond jubilee which is lovely though it won't be relaxing for us as we're going to visit our son, (soon to be) DIL & 3 lil grandchildren (which is even better than relaxing lol).

Cute Jellypark Robot

Thank goodness it's Friday & what a busy week it has been - work has been unbelievably busy because of the upcoming bank holiday (I work in a doctors surgery) & I just seem to have got behind with EVERYTHING lol  but I did manage to make a card with the new "Robot" digi which is released today at Jellypark.  I coloured it with ProMarkers.  The papers are "Cogsmo" by Cosmo Cricket (from Jessica Sprague) & I used my Martha Stewart star border punch & finished the card off with some Baker's Twine & buttons.  The Jellypark Friends new challenge which starts today is "Boy Crazy" if you would like to join us you would be very welcome :D

Vintage/Shabby Chic at The Paper Shelter

I hope you're all having a great week, I've not had so much time for crafting lately (a combination of various things spending more time with hubby :D, work :(, jewellery making & sewing) - there just aren't enough hours in the day.  I really enjoyed making this card for The Paper Shelter's new challenge which is "Vintage or Shabby Chic".  This gorgeous image I used is called "So Stylish" & I coloured it with ProMarkers, the beautiful papers are also from TPS & are called "Distinguished".  I did some machine stitching around all the edges (which I also distressed) & finished the card off with flowers, doily, lace, die cute leaves & corner, stamped ticket, pearls & Glamour Dust.  I also decorated the inside too :D

Bling It On!

 So glad the weekend has finally come & I'm chasing my tail trying to get everything done (wish me luck).  We did have some wonderful news this week though - my youngest son Stuart who was made redundant from Gamestation a few weeks ago (they closed lots of their shops & went into receivership) has got a new job! He will be a supervisor at Toys R Us (& there hopefully there is room for progression within the company too) & tomorrow we are taking him out to celebrate (which means I've really got to pull my finger out today lol).

It's All Wishi Washi

Hello everyone, I you're all having a great week & looking forward to the weekend :) I've been feeling a bit rough for the last week, I had a cold which wasn't too bad & I thought it had nearly gone but for the last couple of days I've been bunged up with headache & horrible cough :(  & as I've been below par I haven't had much mojo or felt like crafting (shock, horror!) BUT I did (eventually) manage to get my Jellypark Friends challenge card done!  This week the theme is "Wishi Washi" (to use Washi tape & office supplies on your card).  As I don't have any Washi tape I made some with patterned paper & double sided tape.  I used a metal clip & a treasury tag & my image is "Boy in Oversized Jumper" which I coloured with ProMarkers.  There is a fabulous new digital image today too which you really should check out.  I know this challenge will get you thinking but I hope you will be able to join us :D

New Challenge at The Paper Shelter

Yes it's Wednesday & that is good on 2 counts: the first is it's my day off (Hooray! Spring Has Sprung!

Well Spring hasn't sprung here unfortunately, it still freezing cold & very wet but at least we have Di's Digi Challenge to get us in the mood for Spring :)  This cute image that I used is called "Home Tweet Home" & I coloured it with ProMarkers.  The papers are digi (from Bearly Mine I believe). New Releases at Jellypark

I love all of Claire's gorgeous images but this cute mermaid has to be one of my favourites, isn't she adorable?  I coloured her with ProMarkers & this time I thought I'd make an easel card as I'd not made one for a while.  The papers are digi from Jessica Sprague.  I kept the card quite simple as I didn't want to detract from the image, just adding a ribbon, fabric crab & sizzlits cloud/rainbow charm die cut.  I kept telling myself I mustn't forget to put something in the centres of the the flowers in her hair but guess what I forgot until after I had taken the photo lol (they do now have pearl centres though).  There's also a new challenge starting today at Jellypark Friends which is "Girly Girl" if you want to join in (& most of us love all things girly - I know I do!).
