Retirement Card

I was asked by my manager at work to make a retirement card for the Dr's as on of their colleagues is retiring.  I wasn't sure if I'd have the  time (or the energy lol, I've been so tired lately) but I managed it!  I used this gorgeous Lili of the Valley stamp that I've had ages but is soo useful & I coloured it in with Prismacolor pencils for a change with a touch of Glamour Dust for a bit of sparkle.  The papers are digi (Bloom & Grow by Zoe Pearn from the Sweet Shoppe), I added some lace, flowers, punched butterfly, gems & computer generated greeting.

The challenges:
Scrappy Frogs - Flowers & Lace
Lili of the Valley - Punch It!
Pile it On - Cutie Patootie
Stamp Insanity - Punch it Out
Totally PaperCrafts - Cuddly & Cute
Southern Girls - Add an Animal
Allsorts - Special Lady
Crafty Ann's - Elvis Song (Teddy Bear)
Let's Ink It Up - Die Cuts or Punches

I'm really looking forward to my day off today  & hopefully catching up with some crafting as I didn't have much time last week with all my gallivanting lol.  Hope you're all having a great week & getting a least a little bit of Spring weather ( isn't it lovely now the evenings are light :o) ).

First I want to appologise for not being able to do much commenting this week - it's been a funny week with being in London Saturday & then Sunday/Monday in lots of pain with an infection in my gum (the antibiotics have helped & it's getting better luckily) & yesterday I went to the Ideal Home Show (London again lol) with my hubby & had a lovely (but very long) day & I  got lots of ideas :o) Then Thursday & Friday I work til late - so you can see, no time.  I will try & make up for it at the weekend.

Anyway on to the job in hand...todays gorgeous new images from StampFairy are called "Lilly Playing" & there is a fab free image of some balloons too!  I coloured her with ProMarkers & paper pieced her dress (& the balloon).  The papers are digi & the flowers are from a cheapie artificial bunch that I dissected (I love doing that lol).  I finished off with a stamped ticket, pearls & some brads.

A Few Things to Show & Tell...

The first is as I said in my previous post I went to the Stitch & Craft Show at Olympia in London with my friend Duang & had a fabulous time, the only problem was it took us over 5 hours to get there! It was really hot on the coach with the sun pouring through the windows & very bumpy lol - I can't tell you how glad I was to get there.  There were 3 levels with knitting on the lower floor, sewing & jewellery making on the ground floor & papercrafting on the top floor.  I brought a few bits & pieces & the highlight of the day was doing the jewellery workshop (I have just started to dabble in jewellery making so it was nice to get some hints & tips :o)  (you can see the necklace I made below).  4 1/2 hours on the coach to get back home & I was shattered.

Secondly it's new digi releases at Paper Pretties on Mondays & today I've made a bookmark using this fun Easter image called "A Basket For You".  I coloured it with ProMarkers as usual, added a stamped Easter egg, Glamour Dust & the papers I used (which I printed on both sides) were a free download from Printable Heaven & I finished off with Ribbon & some staples.

I'm entering my bookmark for these challenges:
Stamp Something - Something Sweet
Crafty Calender - Spring
Aly's - Happy Spring
Secret Crafter - Anything But a Card
Polka Doodles - All About Books
I Did It - Spring
Stampin with the Dragon - Bring on Spring
2 Sisters - Furry Friends

& last by no means least Gerda at StampFairy has another new release today too called "Lenny Cupcakes" which are really cute & yummy :o)

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend & have a great week :o) I'm off to work now but luckily only until 2.00 pm (which IS good as I'm still catching up from the weekend lol.

Pieces of Eight!

There are 2 new digi releases at Paper Pretties today & I used this fab one called "Parrot Hani", I think he's such fun.  I coloured him with ProMarkers & used lots of glitter, gems & glitter gel pens for the treasure.  The papers & treasure map I got years ago when I was on Kaboodle Doodles Design Team (my first DT position & it has fond memories for me) as it was so long ago I'm not sure if you can still get them.  I punched the border with an EK Success punch & finished off with a computer generated sentiment.

Go Green!

This week's challenge at Sentimental Sundays is "Go Green", so to use either the colour green  (which is handy cos it's my fav colour) or recycling.  I did a bit of both: I used lots of green & I recycled too!  The holly leaves are made from last year's crackers & the berries are from a choc wrapper.  I love this image from Di's Digi Downloads called "Eskimos Delight" which I coloured with ProMarkers & Glamour Dust.  I made a rosette thingy by gathering some ribbon (it started off as a bow but I couldn't get it how I wanted it lol) & adding a pearl - I really like the look of it so I know what I'll be doing with all my scraps of ribbon now (& there are many).  I finished off with 2 ribbons, a greeting & a charm.  Be sure to check out the fab DT creations for lots more inspiration & don't forget there are free sentiments every Sunday too!

Monster Under the Bed!

I hope you're all having a great weekend :o)  I'm trying to get a bit organised with my crafting (nothing new there then) & not leaving things to the last minute, though it is difficult when it takes me sooo long to make anything lol :os  This card was made using a digi image from StampFairy's "Monsters Under My Bed" & their "Baby Girl" digi papers.  I coloured the image with ProMarkers, used my Martha Stewart border punch, some die cut & punched stars, Bakers twine & a button.  The sentiment was free from MyGrafico.
