Fall (Autumn) at For Fun!

I hope you're all having a great week - I am cos I have the week off work :) My mission this week is to buy some new winter clothes (every winter I get the same clothes out & put the same summer clothes away lol so I've decided I need a wardrobe overhaul) & I did actually buy a couple of things yesterday as hubby & I had a trip into Norwich :) (now I've just gotta start throwing old things out lol :s).

Anyway on to the business in hand: this week's challenge at For Fun is "Fall" (or as we call it Autumn) & we have a fab sponsor this time - Digi Doodles & the DT were lucky enough to be given images to use & I chose "Hoot Owl" (I love owls).  I paper pieced the owls body & 3d his wings, the rest is coloured with ProMarkers with chalk for the sky.  The papers are Basic Grey "Lime Rickey", I used a Martha Stewart border punch, the flower was made by dissecting a cheap bunch of artificial flowers & the leaf border was another bargain from the Ally Pally & is by LLB.  I finished off with a stamped tag with a free digi greeting from Pink Cat Studio & a brad.

There are lots of Autumnal challenges about at the moment - here's the ones I'm entering:

Squigglefly Monday Challenge...

This week's challenge at Squigglefly is to use your favourite embellishment.  This was quite difficult as I don't really have just one (though I've gone with flowers I love charms, ribbons & lace, buttons, gems...)  To enter the challenge you need to use a Squigglefly image & there are so many to choose from, this image is one of my recent purchases and is called "Tis the Season" by Robin Willis & I thought it was such fun :)  I coloured it with ProMarkers & Stickles.  The flowers were a bargain purchase from the Ally Pally on Saturday (£1 a bag) - I had a fab day with Zoe, saw some crafty pals & had a "little" spend (just a little one honest).  The papers are from Designer Digitals & I finished off with a ribbon, candy cane, gems & some card candy.

I'm entering this card for these challenges:
Winter Wonderland - Deck the Halls with Bows of Holly
Die Cut Dreams Christmas - Christmas Furry Things (not sure if feathers count)
Sparkle - Tags (optional)
Totally Gorjuss - Christmas
The Crafty Pad - Christmas Sparkle
Paperminutes - Countdown to Christmas

This is one of Lexi's newest creations called "Monkeyin' Around" & I love him (he is just so cool) & you should check out her new shop Fairy Dust Crafts - she has lots of new stock & there is free P&P!  I coloured him (Felix I believe the lil chappy is called) with Prismacolor pencils, as you can see the card I used is a little textured but I think it looks ok?  The stamp was one of my new birthday  "Kid Quotes" from Inkadinkado.  I finished off with a metal clip, twine & buttons.  The paper is from Papermania.

Happy Birthday to Me :)

Hooray!  Today is my birthday & I'm soo glad I booked the day off work (especially as it is v stressful there at the moment).  Unfortunately hubby couldn't get the day off as his work is too short-staffed.  I had the perfect start to the day with my little grandchildren Ryan & Abigail singing Happy Birthday & talking to them via the web-cam :)  As you can imagine I got some crafty goodies so I'm going to spend the day playing with them, in between eating birthday cake & Thorntons choccies ;)

Anyway onto the card. This is the first time I've made a double pocket card & I really enjoyed making it.  The papers are from Brenda Pinnock (& so are the sticker, corners & chipboard letters).  I used Greeting Farm stamps coloured in with ProMarkers & Frosted Lace (I think) Stickles.  I finshed off with eyelets, gold cord stuff & a gem.

Sassy Studio Designs at For Fun :)

Hello hope you're all having a good week.  I had a return trip to the dentist this morning but only to take the stitches out which was painless & only took a minute (phew).  Wednesday is usually my day off but unfortunately as we are so short staffed I'm having to work today from 2.30 - 6.30 so I'm trying to fit as much in before then as I can.  Anyway, on to the challenge...
The For Fun challenge this week  is "Black & White + 1 other colour" & sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs & we were give some fab images to work with. I coloured the image with ProMarkers & used some Glaze Drops on the bubbles.  The papers are from Pink Petticoat & the finishing touches are a ticket, some pearls & a flower I made from lace & a button.

I'm entering this card for these challenges:
Penny's - Happy Birthday
Aly's - Pretty in Pink
Stamptacular - Distress It
Everybody-Art - Handmade Flowers
Cowgirl's - Anything Goes

Sorry You're Leaving Card

OMG I had the worse experience at the dentist - 2 hours in the chair with my jaw clamped open: the dentist tried for an  hour but the root canal treatment didn't work so he had to take the tooth out only he couldn't get it out but bless him he tried for another hour to no avail (he worked all through his lunch hour plus an extra half an hour but in the end he had to give up) so now I he has to refer me to the hospital.  It was literally like a nightmare with one nurse holding my head, the other squirting the water & the dentist pushing & pulling.  So my mouth, jaw & head are all throbbing & I'm now going to bed.

I wanted to quickly blog this card though as I have to take it to work tomorrow for everyone to sign, it's for our phlebotomist (blood nurse) Carol who has had to leave due to ill health :(  The papers were in my box of bits & pieces (I love actually using some for a change instead of just adding to them lol), the image is from Stamping Boutique & coloured with ProMarkers & edged with Glamour Dust.  I made a lace flower & added a button.  The card is finished with 2 corners, computer generated sentiment & ribbon.

I'm entering this card for these challenges:
Pile it On - Farewell to Summer
I Love ProMarkers - Myth & Magic
Fab 'n' Funky - Living in a Material World
Cowgirl's - Flowers
Christmas Stampin' All Year Round - Not Christmas

I recently found the 2 Cute Rubber Stamps site & it does just what it says on the tin lol - their images are very cute & at the moment they have a challenge going with a gorgeous free cupcake image to use (well actually there are 4 variations of the image).  I coloured the image with ProMarkers & added a touch of sparkle with some Glamour Dust.  The papers are from my stash & I did a bit of machine stitching around the edges.  The card is finished off with some flowers, a cherry button & the greeting is free from Pink Cat Studio.

I'm entering this card for these challenges:
Lili of the Valley - Dotty for Circles
Pixie Dust - Stitch it Up
Everybody-Art - Sketch

Something New For Me...

This is my first scrapbook page (I know you can probably tell lol) which I made for this week's For Fun challenge which is to make a Goodbye Summer Scrap Page & I did enjoy making it, mainly cos it meant looking at photos of my 2 gorgeous grandchildren & I was also able to use some foam stickers that I'd had for ages too.  The papers I've had in my stash for ages & I finished off with some word stickers & I made a pinwheel with a gem for the centre.

I'm entering this page for these challenges:
Charizma - Hot, Hot, Hot!!!
