& The Squigglefly Challenge is...

to make a birthday card for a man - definitely not my favourite type of card lol but I do love this Squigglefly image by Jackie Matthews called "Gone Bananas" & have used it a few times.  To enter the challenges you do need to use a Squigglefly image but they have so many fantastic designers & so many great images that there is something for everyone & there are freebies too!  I coloured the image with ProMarkers, the papers are Digi & I distressed the edges & finished off with a computer generated greeting, a couple of staples, a clip & a banana button.

I'm entering this card for these challenges:

Fab 'n' Funky - Recipe: 3 Papers, 2 Embellishments & 1 Image

I also made a bookmark with one of this week's new Squigglefly  images (they have new images every Saturday) called "Happy Fruit" by Revi Devi Paat & papers from SBM which I'm entering for the Creative Inspirations challenge which is to "Make a Bookmark".

Lexi's Creations Challenge - Emboss It!

The week's are flying by & what IS going on with the weather?  The beginning of the week it was chilly & Autumnal but now it is hotter than ever lol.  This card is very simple & not my usual style but it made a nice change (& a change is as good as a rest they say ;)  ) I must admit though I still think I prefer to see pretty designer papers.

As the challenge at Lexi's Creations is Emboss It! I used my Swiss Dots embossing folder (I don't use these folders very much, I think it's because  they're a bit awkward to use with my old Zip-e-Mate lol) & some graduated coloured card (I can't remember what it's called but hopefully you can see what I mean).   The image I used is "Ballerinas" but as you can see only used one of the 3 & I hope Lexi will forgive me I had to give her a mouth lol.  I made a little skirt out of lace & coloured the rest of her in with ProMarkers.  The finishing touches are lots of pearls, tulle, flower & a greeting.  One lucky person will win a £10 voucher from Joanna Sheen :)

I'm entering this card for these challenges:
Create4fun - Birthday Card
Just Inspirational - Hobby etc
Pixie Dust - Go Crazy with Polka Dots

Pardon the pun lol but The Stamp Man's ATC swap challenge this month is "Time".  I'm really glad I manged to find time to fit them in (sorry) as I was lucky enough to win their Blog Candy a little while ago :)  These ATCs are made from a flyer for Sky tv, when it popped through the door I thought it would be just perfect.  I used various alphabets, eyelet, cork, lace, stamped & digi clocks, gems, pearl & a jigsaw & chipboard piece that were sanded & inked.

Hope you're having a great weekend.  We went & visited friends who have just had a new little baby boy & I am smitten, he is so small & cute :)

Stampin' for the Weekend - Anything Goes! AKA a Bit of Triple Embossing :)

Nice & easy challenge this week at Stampin' for the Weekend - "Anything Goes".  Our sponsor this time is Sir Stampalot & there will be a fab prize for the winner :)

I wanted to make something different so made a pendant.  I cut a rectangle of thick cardboard & coloured it with raisin & currant coloured inks by Adirondack (Tim Holtz).  I inked it with a clear embossing pad & added ultra think embossing power, heated with at heat gun & repeated this 3 (might have been more actually) times & then while it was still hot stamped it with a butterfly stamp inked with Brillance ink in Platinum Planet (the edges of the pendant were also inked with this).  I added 3 gems for the finishing touch.

I'm entering this Pendant for these challenges:
Sir Stampalot - Bring on the Bling
Simon Says - Make a Gift
Digi Doodle - Anything Goes
Crafty Creations - Butterflies

Fabulous Free Digi at Di's :)

Just in case you didn't  know that  Di gives away a fantastic  free digi image every month & this month it a cute image called "Makeover Maisie Girlfriend Chloe" (such a long name for such a little girl lol).  While you're there why not check out Di's other gorgeous images, there is something for every occasion.

Hope you've all had a great weekend - we were on holiday last week & had fun with the grandchildren but it was definitely back to reality with a bump today as someone else off sick at work (we really are a skeleton staff now) & then my dentist appointment (I absolutely hate the dentist) turned into a root canal treatment so I'm still numb & my head is hurting - can't even have a cup of tea :(

Something Sweet at Donna's Den

The challenge this time at Donna's Den is "Something Sweet" this one is perfect for me as unfortunately I do have a sweet tooth (in fact I have to go to the dentist today for a filling - how awful is that especially after a lovely week off & I also have to work Wednesday this week which is normally my day off & it's my turn to work Saturday too! :(  ).  Anyway on to much nicer things - crafting & cake :).  For my card I used No Scissors Required - Cupcake 2 decoupage & glittered around the edge of the image, the papers are from Designer Digitals & I finished off with some gorgeous flowers.  The fabulous prize is a rubber stamp sheet (Cupcakes 1) from Craft UK, this is the first time I've seen these & if I wasn't on the DT I would definitely enter lol.

Lexi's Creations - Yellow & Orange

This weeks challenge at Lexi's Creations was a tough one for me, to use Yellow & Orange - I couldn't find the right papers & this is the second attempt at my card (& as you can see I only used one paper, even if it is double sided). I've no idea where the paper is from as it was lurking in the bottom of my stash, I turned the corner over & did some stitching.  The gorgeous  image I used this time was "Splashin' Fun Ollie Duck" & coloured him with ProMarkers, I used Glaze Drops on his goggles (though it doesn't really show up in the photo) & finished off with ribbon, button, flower & greeting from Pink Cat Studio. This fortnight our fab sponsor is Joanna Sheen.

This week the challenge over at For Fun is "Water" & this can be interpreted however you want.  The image on my card is from Di's Digital Downloads & is called Quality Time.  I coloured it with ProMarkers with a bit of chalk for the sky & some Glaze Drops for the bear's noses.  The papers are digi but I can't remember which ones (it took me ages to choose some to go with the image) & I inked the edges with Brilliance Cosmic Copper ink.  The fish was from another digi kit & glazed.  The finishing touches are string, button, eyelet, brad, punched tag with computer generated greeting and an anchor charm.  If you're looking for more inspiration why not check out the other DT members blogs :)

Use Ribbon Challenge at Squigglefly :)

Over on the Squigglefly blog this week's challenge is to Use Ribbon on Your Card or Project - nice & easy, most of us like using ribbon, I know I do & have boxes of the stuff overflowing all over the place lol. For my card I used the gorgeous new Shy Bear image by Lynne Stansbery called "Birthday Baking".  I used my pearly paints which I haven't used for ages & it made a nice change.  I paper pieced the curtains & used Perfect Pearls for the icing.  (I have put some pearls for the cupboard handles now but forgot before I took the photo - I'm always doing that lol).  The finishing touches are the ribbon (of course), gems & I used 3 punches: EK Success border punch,  circle & flower & the greeting is from Craftwork Cards (the paper is digi but I can't remember where from).  I hope you'll be able to play along & check out the Squigglefly images - they are so diverse with lots of designers so there's definitely something for everyone & you can always grab a freebie & "try before you buy".

A Bag for Abigail

Several of my colleagues at work have started knitting & as I used to knit when the children were little I thought I'd have another go - we have a knit & knatter group once a month & that is basically the only time I have time to actually do any knitting (what with everything else  & not least of all my paper crafting lol).  This is my first attempt for a long while & I know it's not much & was very simple (it needed to be simple as it really isn't that easy to talk & follow a pattern).  My granddaughter Abigail is a real girly girl & loves handbags (as you can see from the photo - she has 3 bags on the go lol) so I made this for her.  I'm entering this for the Creatalicious challenge which is 3D (& doesn't have to be a card).

Isn't she Sweet, I can't wait to see her & her brother Ryan when they come to stay this week - & no work for me!  Hooray!
