A Month of Birthday Celebrations!

This month at Sentimental Sundays we are having different birthday challenges every week & it kicks off today with "Birthday + doily, pearls, ribbon or lace" (+ a sentiment).  We have lots of sponsors too so that means lots of chances to win :D  For my card I used a die cut birdcage from Craftwork cards which I inked & stamped 2 birds on card & stuck behind it.  I distressed the edges of the paper & finished off with lace, pearls, doily, greeting & flowers.  We always need birthday cards so I hope you will be able to join us ;)

I hope you're having a fab weekend.  Unfortunately I had to work yesterday as we had a Flu Clinic but at least the time went quickly.  I'm in the middle of trying to sort my craft room (it's gonna be a long job!) so the rest of the day was spent trying to do that.

Anything Goes at Jellypark Friends

Wow, it's Friday again where are the weeks going?  Today's challenge at Jellypark Friends is  "Anything Goes" :D  For my card I used "Angel Girl Nativity" digi stamp which is one of my (many) favourites.  I coloured it with ProMarkers & glittered her wings.  The papers are various from my stash & I finished the card with gems, greeting, brads, gems, punched corners and die cut flower.  There are new releases at Jellypark today too & also a DT call: you can see my post HERE if you're interested.

Sentimental Sundays Sketch Challenge

I love sketches, which is handy as this week's Sentimental Sundays challenge is a sketch (with a sentiment).  I made another Christmas card cos I'm a bit behind this year & used this cute Pink Petticoat penguin image that I coloured with ProMarkers with a bit of Glamour Dust & Flower Soft.  The papers are from Papermania (Mistletoe Kisses) & I finished the card with a punched border, gems & peel off holly.

Have you all had a good week?  Mine was very busy & stressful so I was really glad when the Friday evening came (& it was made even better cos it was the start of Strictly Come Dancing)  :o)  I hope you're enjoying your weekend & manage to fit in a bit of crafting like me - it really is good for the stress levels.

Birthday Celebrations...

Yep Monday was my birthday & not just any ol' birthday, I was 50 (I still can't believe I'm THAT old lol) & I felt the need to get away from it all so hubby & I spent a few days at Hazlewood Castle in Yorkshire which was wonderful & very relaxing which was just what we needed as we've both had a lot of stress at work lately.  I did have the weekend before celebrating with my eldest son Craig & our 3 grandchildren who came up from Kent & also a meal with my youngest son Stuart & his girlfriend Hannah on my birthday (they missed the weekend celebrations cos they were on holiday).  So all in all it has been a pretty good week & I don't feel 50 (& it IS just a number anyway right).  I got lots of fab pressies, including crafty stash (of course).

Enough rambling, on to my card for the Jellypark Friends challenge which is late but as above I have a good reason ;o)  The theme is "The Sentiment is Key" & the image I used is part of the Christmas Bundle Set which if you're a member of the Jellypark Club you can get for only £6 (normal price £10). I coloured Santa with ProMarkers & used Liquid Pearls for his beard & a pompom on his hat.  The papers are from Dovecraft & I finished with a ribbon, gems & die cut Poinsettia & Christmas tree border.  There are also fab new releases at Jellypark too.

Another Sad Goodbye

Today if my last creation for The Paper Shelter design team & I've had the best time & worked with some lovely people.  I just checked to see when my first creation for them was & it was over 2 years ago.  I've had to leave 2 of my DTs cos I just haven't got the time unfortunately :o(  The challenge this week is "Sun, Moon & Stars", that's one to get you thinking but I hope you will join us.  I used Sleepyhead Moon & added a die cut heart border, padded stars, teddies & the greeting is from Jellypark (there's a lil pearl & some Glamour Dust in there too).

 Today has not been the best day even though it's my day off, I went to the dentist for a checkup & ended up having my wisdom tooth out.  I'm still waiting the the numbness to wear off & am desperate for a cup of tea lol  Never mind 2 more days & we're on holiday (no work for a week hooray!).  I hope you're having a great week. Something Tweet at Sentimental Sundays

Today sees the start of Sentimental Sundays "Something Tweet" & the DT were lucky enough to be able to choose a digi from our wonderful sponsor Doodle Pantry & I chose Winter Song Birdies (coloured).  The paper was from stash & inked with Brilliance Galaxy Gold.  I added a bit of Glamour Dust and some gems to the image & finished the card with a punched border, more gems, stamped greeting and a padded Christmas tree.  I printed a smaller image & decorated the inside too.  I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend, mine has very busy but great:  we had a wedding reception Friday night & then a wedding all day yesterday both of which I thoroughly enjoyed (I do love a good wedding).

Time for Another Challenge at The Paper Shelter

Yes & the challenge starting today at The Paper Shelter is "Lace & Pearls", one of my favourites, who doesn't love lace & pearls (well obviously not everyone lol but lots of you I'm sure).  For my card I used their "Beautiful Mermaid" image & I used the coloured version for quickness, just adding some chalk to her cheeks & some Stickles to the water.  The paper is digi, printed on both sides & I finished with a die cut border & corner, punched (& covered with Glossy Accents), a ticket & lace & pearls (of course).  I hope you can join us :o)

It's Sunday ...So...Let's Get Sentimental :o)

Yes, as it is Sunday it means time for another Sentimental Sundays challenge & this time it is "Ombre Hair".  I thought I was going to really struggle with this but it was easier than I imagined.   It did help that we are sponsored by the wonderful Krista & Saturated Canary & the DT got to work with her gorgeous images :D  I chose "Hipster" & coloured her with ProMarkers.  The papers are "Retro Mania" from The Paper Shelter & I finished the card with punched butterflies, flowers, buttons & a ticket.  I hope you can join us, have fun with this technique & get the chance to win some fabulous images :D

Use That Ribbon

This week the challenge at The Paper Shelter is "Use That Ribbon".  The image I used is one of my favourites & is called "Vintage Seamstress" (I used the coloured image for quickness as time is of the essence lately lol).  The papers are Cosmo Cricket "Material Girl" (digital - I can print again as I have a fab new printer :D ).  I added ribbons, a greeting from Craftwork Cards & finished off with a little button stamp.

Cuddly Wuddly

Wow! Another week has flown by probably cos work is exceptionally busy & short-staffed, so as you can imagine I am mighty glad it is nearly the weekend (just gotta get through today).  Today sees the start of a new challenge at Jellypark Friends & this time it is"Cuddly Wuddly".  For my card I used this cute "new baby boy or girl with teddy" image which is on sale at the moment & only costs 63p - what a bargain.  I coloured him with ProMarkers & as the paper is very fancy & glittery (by First Addition, "Up, Up & Away".  I didn't add any more embellishments apart from a satin teddy & some pearls.

Catching Up...(be warned it's a long post)

Wow! That was a busy week, starting last Friday with us having our 3 grandchildren to stay until Tuesday (son & DIL were at a wedding but came back to ours to stay on Sunday night too) & then work has been ridiculously busy & short staffed, with 2 people on holiday & one person off sick (& that is nearly half our team). So I am trying to have a catch-up with everything this weekend.  Starting with Sentimental Sundays challenge which this week is "Child's Play" (with a sentiment) & I used this cute coloured image from TPS called "Happy Times", the papers are digi (I have a new printer at last) & I finished the card with string, die cut banner, greeting & staples.  We are sponsored this week by Sweet & Sassy & I hope you can find time to join us :o)

More Christmas...

Today at Jellypark there are some fantastic new Christmas images, I love them all but this "Christmas Window" is one of the loveliest Christmas images I've seen!  I made a card blank from Kraft card, I used odd papers from my "Christmas drawer", the image is coloured with ProMarkers & the snow is Aleene's Glitter Snow.  I finished the card with a ribbon, flowers, pearls & greeting. The new challenge at Jellypark Friends is "Christmas in July", so you can treat yourself to a new image & join the challenge too ;)
