Notebook

Hello everyone & Happy Sunday (& Happy Father's Day to all those Dad's in the UK), I hope you're having a great weekend.  We're taking FIL out to lunch & Stuart (youngest son) is coming too so I'm looking forward to that.  As it is Sunday it's time for another challenge at Sentimental Sundays & this week it is "Sprays/Mists".  I had a slight problem as I wanted to use my Perfect Pearls antique gold spray for creation but I had only sprayed a tiny bit & then the bottle got clogged up & I couldn't get it to work so I had to use the only other spray I have which is silver & I sprayed it on thin blue card (I was going to spray the gold on Kraft card).  I love notebooks (& making lists) & think you can never have too many, this one was free with a magazine & just had a plain cover.  We are sponsored by MayzyArt & the DT were lucky enough to chose an image to work with & I chose MacKenzie & coloured her with ProMarkers.  I finished the notebook off with a ribbon, flowers, gem & some alphabet stickers.  If you like me have sprays that you haven't used for ages or if you love using them & use them all the time, I hope you will join us.

This week's challenge at Jellypark Friends is "Marvelously Masculine", so it is a perfect time to show off those Father's Day cards :D  Saying that I made a bookmark lol.  The image I used is Jellypark's "Boy Reading Book" which I coloured with ProMarkers.  I used Kraft card & some hmm, not sure what you call it, some sort of mesh & finished it off with ribbon.  The DT have made some fabulous creations so if you're looking for inspiration please them check out.

New Challenge at The Paper Shelter

Today's new challenge at The Paper Shelter is "Blue & White" or "Pink & White".  As I've just lost all my digital images when my PC broken I've had to use one of TPS's new images (which is not a problem as all their images are fab but I would have liked to have made a baby card).  The image I used is called "Mad About Video Games" & I coloured it (not very well, I'm not sure what went wrong here, the ink seemed to bleed & it just didn't go as I'd planned) with ProMarkers.  The stripey card is recycled from some packaging & I used my star border punch (Martha Stewart) & single star punch (Fiskars), finishing off with some punched corners, a couple of star brads & a greeting.

Beautiful Borders

Hello everyone :o)  I hope you've had a good week.  I'm still trying to get back into the swing of things after our amazing holiday in Croatia.  So I'm glad it's over (the week, not our holiday) & I can try & catch up on what I like doing best (apart from eating cake & drinking tea ;) lol) - crafting of course!  This week Di's Digi Challenge is "Beautiful Borders" & the image I used is "Little Ted's Balloon" which I coloured with ProMarkers.  The papers are digi & I did a little bit of machine stitching.  The border is a Memory Box die cut from foam & I finished the card off with flowers, pearls, gems & a greeting.  (The card is actually recycled from one I made a while ago but didn't use).

Jellypark Colour Pallette Challenge

I'm Back!

 

Hello everyone, I hope everything is good.  I'm back from my hols, we went to Dubrovnic, Croatia & had an amazing time! Everything was perfect: the weather, hotel, scenery, architecture, food :D  It was only the 2nd time I've been abroad & the first time was about 15 years ago! (we're intending to do a lot more traveling now - I've definitely got the bug).  

I do have a problem though, my PC has blown up (well not literally but it did go back & smell of smoke & now it's not working), this is terrible because all my crafting life is on it :(  (my images, papers, watermarks, photos etc) so I did feel a bit sad but my son says he should be able to retrieve the stuff off it (fingers crossed).  

Luckily I made & photoed my card for this week's challenge at The Paper Shelter before the PC gave up the ghost which is "Shape it up or an Easel Card".  For my card I used "The Cutest Date" (coloured image), some chipboard hearts that I glittered, ribbon, gems & punched butterfly.

Card for a Very Special Woman

Today's Sentimental Sunday Challenge is "For a Special Woman".  As this side of the pond we have already celebrated Mothers Day (& sadly my Mum is no longer with us) I wanted to share a card a made for a very special person & dear friend who has been battling breast cancer & has been so strong & positive:  Jennifer Scull. The image I used was designed especially for Jennifer by Jellypark's wonderful illustrator Claire Keay. Sentimental Sundays on a Wednesday :o)

Here is my card for this week's Sentimental Sundays challenge which is "Paper Piecing" & we have a wonderful sponsor: The Paper Shelter! Those of you who follow my blog or even just visit occasionally will probably know that they are one of my very favorite sites for digital images & papers :o)  For my card I used "Birds Couple" & I paper pieced their bodies & the heart, the rest of the image is coloured with ProMarkers.  The papers are digi & I finished off with some punched flowers, rickrack, pearls & sentiment.

New Releases at Jellypark Today :o)

Today's new releases at Jellypark are "Flowers are like Friends" & "String of Hearts".  For my card I used Flowers are like Friends which I coloured with ProMarkers.  I added a die cut vine & bird house & finished off with the sentiment that comes with the image & some button flowers.  There is a new challenge at Jellypark Friends too which is "Girly Girl", a nice easy one for us girlies with lot's of scope for creativity :o)

I'm so glad it's Friday & a long weekend too - hubby & I are away for the weekend as it is our (29th) wedding anniversary on Sunday & I can't wait it will be nice to have a relaxing break away as work has been quite stressful lately.  I hope you've all had a great week & have something nice planned for the weekend.  We might even get some sunshine (fingers crossed).

Canvas Me This!

Yes this week's Sentimental Sundays challenge is "Canvas Me This" (with a sentiment) & if you would like to have a go at this fabulous technique our wonderful sponsor Just Some Lines have a tutorial HERE :o)  I didn't have a canvas so I used an old coaster:  I painted the edges of the coaster with gold acrylic paint, added some DP with the corners rounded & used a torn strip for a border.  The image is JSL Petite Pot - Getting In which I coloured with ProMarkers, I finished it off with sequins, pearls & a stamped ticket (or & some glitter glue on the wings).  I can't use it for my cuppa on it now but it makes a nice decoration for my craft room windowsill :D

Wednesday again {hooray, it's my day off} & so it's time for a new challenge The Paper Shelter & this week it is "Make It Bloom".  Today's challenge is extra special too as because we have passed 1000 followers {thank you sooo much} we have 2 prizes:  the normal $30 gift voucher + a gift voucher worth $20 (whether or not you use TPS image or not!).  I kept my card really simple (& I'm not really pleased with it but lack of time & not feeling 100% meant it was the best I could manage at the time).  I printed TPS "Love Letters" image on to the base card & printed the window image again & overlayed it with the shutters not stuck down, just finishing off with some flowers, rickrack, stamped greeting & some gems.  I hope you will be able to join us :D

Late Runner...This Week's Challenge at The Paper Shelter

Hello, I hope you all had a lovely Easter, we did visiting our son, DIL & 3 precious grandchildren :D  The problems started when we got home first hubby had a really awful tummy bug & then I got it even worse :o(  It has been a horrible week & worse because we both had the week off work with a list as long as your arm of things we wanted/needed to do to the house.  It's Friday evening & I'm still not feeling 100% but am keeping my fingers (& toes) crossed that I have some energy back so we can do at least something tomorrow..............Hence my challenge at The Paper Shelter post being late (& I wasn't able to do make my Jellypark card at all boohoo!).  This week's challenge is "Use a Doily(s)".  I made a wedding card using "The Happy Couple" digi.  I ruched some ribbon & finished the card with a doily (of course, though I have been known to completely forget the theme of the challenge until my card is finished & then have to try & fit it in somewhere lol), punched heart, pearl heart, flowers & greeting cut from DP.  As always our very generous sponsors are Veronica and Pedro of The Paper Shelter and they are offering a fabulous prize of $30. for you to spend on their website here.
