Sentimental Sundays Challenge

Wow, the weeks are flying by & it's Sunday again & that means another challenge at Sentimental Sundays & this time it is "Dry Embossing" (with a sentiment). Our wonderful sponsor is Heather Ellis (I love her images & so already had this one). I coloured this Pure Innocence image with ProMarkers & used an embossing folder for the background, the paper is from the Prima "So Cute" stack & I finished off with my Memory Box heart border (again), some flowers, ribbon, punched butterflies, pearls & a greeting.

Valentines Box & Earrings

Di's Digi challenge today is "Valentines" & I thought I'd make a little box to put a valentines gift in. I made the box with my Ultimate Pro (I wanted to print some nice patterned card to make the box with but my printer's playing up so I had to settle for plain cream). The image I used from Di's Digi Downloads is called "Love Bears" & I paper pieced his jumper & coloured the rest with ProMarkers (for some reason my colouring was a bit pants on this image but hopefully you can see how adorable it is). I added the obligatory Glamour Dust ;) & finished off with a flower, heart gems & pearls, heart die cut border & a ribbon. I then made some earrings to go in the box (although I have been wearing them so they're not really a present apart from to myself lol). There is the chance to win a $10 voucher from Joanna Sheen & lots of inspiration from the other DT girls.

Winter Wonderland...

Wow, look at me go with the Christmas cards lol This week the challenge at Jellypark Friends is "Winter Wonderland". This wonderful image I used is actually a freebie! Yes, if you join the Jellypark Friends group at The Crafter's Cafe you can have it too :) I coloured the image with ProMarkers, the papers are digi & I finished off with glittered snowflakes & snowflake border, greeting & gems. This week's challenge at The Paper Shelter is "Pearls & Swirls". We've missed a week or 2 as we have been holding a DT call. I used TPS "Little Red Riding Hood" image & coloured it with ProMarkers. The papers are from my stash & I distressed the edges. I used new Martha Stewart butterfly punch ( which I got with a win on the Simon Says Stamp challenge :D ) & finished off with die cut swirls, lace, pearls & a stamped ticket. It feels like ages since I've blogged although it's only a week & what a busy week it's been what with work & trying to get ahead with my crafting commitments, which was one of my New Years resolutions & it's not been going quite to plan lol but I'm not doing too bad :) Anyway onto this week's challenge at Sentimental Sundays which is "Die Cuts" (with a sentiment) & we're sponsored by The (wonderful) Paper Shelter. Ribbon Challenge at Sentimental Sundays

As the title suggests this weeks challenge at Sentimental Sundays is to use ribbon in your creations (don't forget the sentiment too) & our wonderful sponsor is Fred She Said :) I made this wedding card for someone I work with to give to her Dad & his new wife as she loves Tatty Teddy. The image is from my Me to You CD-rom & I added Glamour Dust & gems to the image (I used my new trimmer again). The papers from the Dovecraft Wedding stack (that I've had for ages) & I finished the card with ribbon, heart charm, flowers & a peel-off greeting (I am trying to use them up but it will take forever lol). Di's Digi Challenge starting today is "Thank You" (you don't have to use her images, though we love to see them if you have any). I love Di's images & this image I've used is called "Daisy Kitten". I coloured her with ProMarkers, the papers are digi & I cut the edges of the image & spotty paper with my new paper trimmer (which I love). I kept the card quite simple as the colours are quite bright, finishing off with a little ribbon rosette with button, greeting & pearls. The first challenge of the year at Stampin' for the Weekend is "Out With The Old" & we would like to see you use some of your old stash on your projects. It's Friday... It's... New Releases at Jellypark!

Friday again & how quickly it has come round again at least it's nearly the weekend but also Friday is my worse day at work a) cos I'm tired as it's the end of the week b) I start at 7.45 am & have a long day & c) it's always busy BUT at least I have my crafting to keep me going lol & I'm so lucky to be on the Jellypark DT as I get to use Claire's fabulous new images every couple of weeks & this one is called "Cute Girl With Speech Bubble". I coloured her with ProMarkers & paper pieced her dress. The papers are from a kit from The Paper Shelter called "Spring Swing", I did some faux stitching around the edges (which I must admit I'm not sure about) & I finished off using my new Die-namics rolled flower dies & some pearls. As it is Friday there is also a new challenge at Jellypark Friends which today is Something in my Pocket so I hope you'll be able to join us for that :) We have some new DT members so there's even more inspiration for you :)

First Christmas Card of 2012! :D

Well I've started my Christmas cards (very) early so we will see if I have enough by December (I started in January last year & it didn't make any difference lol).

This week the Sentimental Sundays challenge is Snow, Blue +/or Glitter, I used blue & glitter. The backing paper is from Dovecraft's "Let it Snow" pad & as you can see I've used my new trimmer with the Victorian blade again :) The image is "Angel Girl Nativity" from Jellypark & is one of my favs. I coloured the image with ProMarkers with Glamour Dust on her wings. I finished the card off with a sparkly ribbon, star gem, tinsel, peel off greeting (I have hundreds of these from when I first started cardmaking - a loooong time ago, so I thought I'd better try & use some up). The Poinsettia was made using my new Spellbinders Shapabilities Layered Poinsettia dies which I love & I glittered them & added a pearl. Ooh I forgot to say the Kraft card is digi! yes I printed it from a kit from Pink Petticoat & I am soo chuffed as I struggle to find Kraft card & now I can print it off when I like :D

Old Year/New Year...

The Jellypark Friends new challenge that starts today is "Old Year/New Year" - to use your old stash together with the any new goodies you may have got for Christmas (or have just recently acquired :D) . I used 2 of today's new Jellypark digital image releases "Cute Wedding Couple" & "Wedding Cake" & coloured them with ProMarkers, I used my new trimmer to cut the mats, the papers I've had ages (Papermania I think). I finished off with a punched heart, gems, Glamour Dust & 2 flowers. The Greeting is from Pink Petticoat. I decorated the inside to match, I do think it looks nice to have a matching inside but more often than not I don't have enough time. This is the last card I've made for 2011 (but seeing as how I didn't make enough Christmas cards this year I'm going to be starting for 2012 again in January lol). This is the card I made for my In-Laws & The Paper Shelter challenge which this week is "Tie a Bow". I used TPS fab image called "Getting Ready for Christmas", added some Glamour Dust & used a Stardust pen to do some highlighting. I finished off with the ribbon, gems & stamped greeting. Last Challenge of the Year at Stampin' for the Weekend

Today is the start of SFTW's last challenge of 2011 which is a nice easy (in fact the easiest) one: "Anything Goes". We have 3 wonderful sponsors - The Little Pretty Ribbon Shop, Love to Stamp & Bugaboo & I used a Bugaboo image on my card which is the last Christmas card of the year (but I'm gonna have to start again in January as I was so behind this year). Poor hubby had to wait til last to get his card but at least I got it done with a few days to spare. Anything But a Card...

I know you will find this hard to believe but this creation has nothing to do with Christmas! (apart from the fact that it could be a Christmas pressie that is). The challenge at Jellypark Friends this week is "ABC- Anything But a Card". I have been so short of time lately that I had to try & make something that didn't take too long so I used my Ultimate Pro to make a box using Basic Grey card stock & the "Clothes, Shoes, Handbag Shop" digital stamp, which is one of today's new releases. I paper pieced the shop & dress & coloured the rest with ProMarkers. The finishing touches were Glamour Dust (almost obligatory lol), a circle flower, ribbon & brad. The box is filled with some childrens jewellery that I made. The DT have absolutely excelled themselves for this challenge so I hope you will check their designs out & that you can find time to join us (& perhaps make some last minute Christmas gifts).

For my card I used the backing paper & image from a kit called Patisserie from The Paper Shelter & I 3d some of the images. I did some machine stitching & added a border with my Martha Stewart cupcake border punch. I finished the card off with some bunting, stamped flower, ribbon, brad & Glamour Dust. Anyone who knows me will know I am very partial to cakes of all description so this card is perfect for me lol :D

This week Di's Digi Challenge is "All White (except the image)" & I must admit I really struggled with this challenge as I love pretty papers & colour. Luckily the finished card is better than I expected (though the other DT creations are absolutely stunning so you really should check them out if you have the time). My cute image is called "Cuddle Christmas" & I coloured it with ProMarkers & added some Glamour Dust & Rainbow Stripe glitter. I used lots of die cuts trying to add interest lol & finished of with 2 gems, some pearls & a bauble greeting. Fa La La Felt!

The Jellypark Friends challenge this time is "Fa La La Felt" so we would like to see felt somewhere on your project. I'm still plodding on with my Christmas cards lol but now it's December I'm starting to feel Christmasy so that makes it slightly easier (I wish I could make them a bit quicker though, I spend ages moving bits & pieces around the card lol). I used one of this week's fabulous new releases on my card aptly called "Couple Kissing Under The Mistletoe". I used chalks again for a softer feel, the papers are digi & I finished off with a handmade flower, including a felt flower (added at the last minute cos I forgot what the challenge was this time - Doh!). I finished off with a giant brad, some beads, greeting & lots of Glamour Dust. I hope you're all having a fabulous week, I'm hoping to catch up with my card making & blog visiting this week as the last few weeks have been manic getting ready for the craft fayre which I did on Sunday (it was my first so it was a bit of a learning curve). It was quite small (only about 10 stalls) but I really enjoyed it & made a bit of cash too :o) - I want to do more now (it's just finding them that's the problem).

Fairies & Friends

The Stampin' For The Weekend challenge this week is "Friends" & I used this stamp which I have had for absolutely ages (in fact I think it was one of the very first ones I bought) & I it is still one of my favourites, I got it from Willow Designs & I doubt they stock it any more. I coloured the image with chalks for a change & I like the soft feel they give so I think I will be using them more. I used glitter on the fairies wings, on the leaves & around the edge of the image. The papers are "Pocket Full of Posies" from DCWV (not digi!) & finished off with some stitching, a flower, punched heart & butterfly, ribbon, lace & gems. This time the challenge at Jellypark Friends is to make a "Thank You, Thankful or Thanksgiving" project. There are 2 of Claire's fab new releases today & I used "Girl in Winter Coat". I did some paper piecing (again) & the rest is coloured with ProMarkers. I added some puffy stuff (don't know what it's called & there's no label on the bottle which I've had for ages) for snow & snowballs, the papers are Mistletoe Kisses from Papermania (a bargain form the NEC) & I finished off with sparkly twine, pompoms, gems & a charm. I hope you're all having a great week, I've just about recovered from busy weekend at the Hobby Crafts show at the NEC, it was absolutely fab & I managed to get some crafty goodies & do some Make & Takes too.

Today Jellypark is sponsoring the Crimbo Crackers challenge which is "Sparkle" & who doesn't love a bit of sparkle (well maybe my hubby when it is covering most of the house including him! lol). Another excuse to made a Christmas card as this week Di's Digi Challenge is "Ribbons & Bows". Festive Frolics Blog Hop :o)

Wild Rose Studio are having a Festive Frolics blog hop to celebrate their fabulous new Christmas designs. It finishes tomorrow & it was a bit of struggle to get a card made in time but I managed it, phew! I used another cd-rom (isn't it funny I've had these CDs a while but haven't used either of them but now I'm on a roll lol) this time I used my Me to You (Tatty Teddy) CD-Rom. It's A Frame Up!

This week's challenge at Sentimental Sundays is "Fancy Folds" (with a sentiment). I wasn't sure what to make but I'd had my Humphrey's Corner cd-rom for a while & hadn't really made anything with so thought I would try making a frame card. It wasn't quite as easy as I'd hoped especially as there are no instructions on the cd-rom lol Luckily I found some instructions here. I'm quite pleased with the outcome & I'm sure my little granddaughter Abigail would like it as she LOVES elephants. I added a gem, pearls & flowers & the sentiment I believe is from TLC. No crafty creations to show today but I thought I would share a couple of photos of my new granddaughter Bethany who was born on 6th August. She is such a little darling & I can't wait until she (& the rest of the family) come to visit at half term (my son lives in Kent so we don't get to see them much as we would like - thank goodness for Skype & the webcam!).

I hope you're all having a lovely weekend. We went to see Footloose at the cinema yesterday (we only went cos we had free tickets) & it was absolutely fab! I loved it from beginning to end. We're off out to lunch with the in-laws a bit later so that's no cooking again for me today - excellent :D

I've had this image from Mo's Digital Pencil for ages & I coloured it with ProMarkers, the edges have been inked & distressed with Glamour Dust added, the papers are digital & the sentiment is from TLC. The challenge this week at Jellypark Friends is "Pink + a Ribbon" & I thought I'd make something different this time, so I made a keychain (which is mainly pink with a bit of green for good measure). I used the Jellypark "Ticket Invite for Tea & Cake" which is one of my favs (mainly cos it involves tea & cake lol) which I coloured with Prismacolor pencils & added a clear glaze to. As it's Friday it means there are 2 new releases too & I made a card with "Boy Wearing Over-sized Jumper", isn't he such fun (he would make a fab Christmas card too). Willow Sketchie Challenge

It's been a long day today, we had Basic Life Support training at work & then I still had to work til 6.30 (we usually get to go home early on a training day) so I'm feeling a bit whacked tonight but at least it's my day off tomorrow (hooray!)

Make Your Own Flowers :)

Thank you so much to all who entered Di's Digi Designs 1st challenge & it's time for the 2nd challenge which is "Make Your Own Flowers", I tried to make a fabric flower with 6 petals all gathered in the middle but it just wasn't happening lol (I need more practice, I'm hoping to make one good enough to be used on my DT sample for tomorrow but not sure if I will) SO I ended up making the old favourite rolled flowers but I did use felt for a change :) The paper is digi & was free I believe (I will try & remember where from & post the link) - FOUND IT: it is from Computer Scrapbook & called "Garden Path" (there are loads of fabulous free kits on there). Well it's Friday again & that's another week that has just whizzed by (scary isn't it). The Paper Shelter challenge this week is the old favourite of "Anything Goes" so no excuses not to join in ;) I've made a wedding card for a change using TPS cute image called "The Happy Couple" as you can see I used the coloured image (short of time again & it is so handy getting the images in colour or the b&w outline). The papers are from Dovecraft & they have been in my stash for ages. I used my new Martha Stewart border punch & finished off with a rub-on greeting, flowers, pearls, ribbon & charm (ooh & a smattering bit of Glamour Dust). I hope you've all had a great week. I have: the beginning of the week was spent in the Cotswolds for a nice relaxing break with my hubby & Friday was my birthday which was spent with my friend Kelly & her little boy & also my brother & nephew. Then I spoke to my darling grandchildren (& son & DIL) on the webcam & we went out for a lovely meal in the evening. GUESS what I got for my birthday - lots of crafty goodies lol (I've finally upgraded my Zip-e-Mate to a Big Shot). Anyway that also explains why I haven't blogged anything for a week (& also why I haven't been able to comment but I am trying to catch up now).

Well not exactly in Town but in Crafty Blog Land lol. Wednesday's are good for several reasons, not least cos is my day off (though I have to go to the dentist today but I'm trying not to think about that) &it also a fab new challenge at The Paper Shelter & this week, as the title suggests ;) is "Embossing of any Kind!" Hello everyone, it seems like ages since I last blogged (well it is over a week & that is a long time for me) & I am getting withdrawal symptoms. It's that time of year when the summer holidays are coming to an end & it's time for the lil children to get ready to go "Back to School" & that is the theme for this week's Sentimental Sundays challenge. I used this fab image from DigiStamp Boutique called "Off to School Ava" & coloured her with ProMarkers, the papers were from my stash & I finished of with a chipboard A+ , a paperclip & computer generated sentiment. There is lots of inspiration from the fabulous DT & free sentiments too!

Jellypark Friends Friday Challenge

Wow, Friday again where are the weeks going? For this week's Jellypark Friends Friday challenge we would love to see Punches or Diecuts used on your creations. There are 2 fabulous digi image releases too & the one I've used is called "Jumping in Leaves" (doesn't it look fun lol). I coloured the image with ProMarkers, the papers are digi from Designs by Krista & I finished off with a punched butterfly & fence, a ticket brads, flower, lace border & pearls. The Paper Shelter Challenge :)

Wednesday again, I love Wednesday cos it is my day off :) & as it is Wednesday it's time for another fab challenge at The Paper Shelter & this week it is "Punches or Dies". If you use one of their images you are with the chance to win a $15 gift certificate to spend in their online Store but even if you don't use their images you still could win 1 of their gorgeous images - so it is a win, win situation :D For my card I used TPS "Hippie Girl" (coloured) image which is def one of my favourites (though I have soo many lol). I used a couple of papers from my stash (the peace was free from TLC I believe), the ticket is a stamp from Raindrop Echo & I finished off with some staples, stamped leaves, bit of an artificial flower, punched flower, punched butterfly, gems & a brad.

Sentimental Sundays Birthday Challenge

Sunday again, I hope you're all enjoying a lovely weekend, Yesterday we had a lovely walk on the beach (yes it was actually sunny!), we had to make the most of the warm, dry weather & later today we're going out for a meal (so no cooking or washing up - hooray). As it IS Sunday that means it's time for another Sentimental Sundays challenge which this week is "Birthdays". For my card I used another fab digital image from The Paper Shelter & this one is called "Birthday Cupcake" & as I was pushed for time (this week has been sooo busy) I used the coloured version:) I did a bit of machine stitching made some bunting & finished off with sparkly twine, coloured pearls, alphabet stickers & some Glamour Dust. I hope you will be able to join us ( well it is nice & easy, we all need birthday cards :D ). Ooh don't forget fabulous free sentiments every Sunday too.

Holidays at Stampin' for the Weekend

Well that's been a really long week, I'm so glad that Friday (just gotta get through today lol). As it is Friday that means it's time for a new Stampin' for the Weekend challenge :) This fortnight we want to see you Holiday projects. I used this fab digi image called "Sunny Day" from The Paper Shelter (you get all their images in outline & full colour so they are very versatile) which I coloured with ProMarkers. The papers are from my stash & I finished off with flowers, brads, ribbon & a touch of Glamour Dust, Glossy Accents & a digi ticket (I've added a gem to the flower in her hair now as well). I'd like to enter my card for the Crafty Calendar challenge which this month is "Hot Colours".

Jellypark Friends Friday Challenge...

This week the Jellypark Friends Friday challenge is to use your favorite embellishment. My favourite embellishment depends on the type of card, as this card is a male card (not my favorites usually to make but I loved using this cute new "Boy Footballer" image). I coloured the image with ProMarkers, the papers are digi & I finished off with punched stars, twine, button, a couple of pearls & some scrabble tiles. I have enjoyed every moment of being on the StampFairy DT & using Gerda's wonderful images & working with such a great bunch of girls but I've decided to stand down so this is my last post on the DT. The Friday release this week is this cute "Garden Goblin" in various guises :) I decided to cover an old filofax & I used ProMarkers to colour the image, added the freebie toadstools on the front too & also inside finishing off with some alphabet stickers, buttons & punched corners.

The Paper Shelter Challenge :)

I was so pleased & excited to be chosen to be on The Paper Shelter DT as their digital images & papers are gorgeous & this is my first creation for their challenge blog. This week the theme is "Sitching" (faux or real). I don't use my sewing machine enough so it was nice to have an excuse to use it :) The image I used is called "Beauty Treatment" & I coloured her with ProMarkers (all the images come in coloured too which is fab if you haven't got a lot of time), the stamped beauty products & sentiment are from Elzybells & I finished the card off with flowers, punched butterfly & some gems. Ooh I nearly forgot to say I decorated the inside of the card too (I'm love doing this at the moment, when I have enough time lol).

Sentimental Sundays Challenge & Some News...

Firstly my news is that I'm a Nanny (Grandmother) again, my son Craig & his partner Zoe had a gorgeous little girl yesterday (they haven't got a name for her yet) a little sister to Ryan & Abigail who are very excited. Unfortunately they don't live close by so I've got to wait until the end of the week before I can meet her (but I can't wait).

So on the the challenge: the Sentimental Sundays challenge this week is "Flowers", nice & easy this time & it made me get on with my MIL's birthday card. I am so lucky to be part of the StampFairy DT & able to use lots of Gerda's fabulous images. As today is Gerda's birthday Jackie our DT leader has organised a *Surprise* blog hop to celebrate. So "Happy Birthday Gerda, have a fabulous day & I hope you like our virtual birthday party!". My image is "Lenny Cupcakes" as I (amongst many are providing the cake & you can never have too much cake!). I did lots of paper piecing & it took ages (but you're worth it Gerda hun), used my cupcake border punch & finished off with a flower, gems, charm & greeting.
