An Afternoon Crafting

I've had great fun this afternoon crafting. Hubby was playing footy & I should have been ironing really but it will still be there tomorrow (unfortunately - why can't the ironing fairy come & do some for me while I'm asleep lol). I've had my music on & have been drawing, colouring, cutting, gluing, punching & stamping but why oh why does the time sooo much quicker at the weekend?

Here is a Door Hanger I made for my Grandson Ryan's room (though his room does double as a sort of 2nd craft room & I have to sort it out every time he comes to stay lol) using the Willow Sketchie sketch & this week Sharon also "wants to see you draw and cut out shapes from your patterned papers!". I used Funky Hand papers, I drew quite a few stars before I was happy with them. I've used 3 Willow Design stamps, Sakura glitter gel pens, brads & my Crop-a-dile for the eyelets for the hanger.

New Home Card

I made this card for my cousin Rae & her partner Roger who have just built their own house & moved in yesterday. (I must admit I am a little jealous, much as I LOVE my home I think it would be lovely to design & choose everything from scratch).

I used the fab Sketch from Sketch Saturday. The papers are Basic Grey (I'm really loving these at the moment, such good quality). I made a lil house & used the Wiff of Joy "Fall Grass" stamp for the background, punched some flowers & leaves, added some gems & finished off with a New Home sign. (ooh yes I also used my new Martha Stewart lace border punch).

I've Been Tagged! (Twice)

Thank you (I think) to Zoe & Rose.

Here are the rules:

1. Navigate to where you keep your pictures; select the 6th folder, and the 6th picture in that folder

2. Post the picture on your blog with an explanation about the picture.

3. Tag 6 others to do the same, and let them know they have been tagged!

This picture is of my gorgeous hubby Mark (he’s the one in the white shirt) & his brother Dale (the 6th folder is our son Stuart’s 18th Birthday folder).

Hmmm… who to pass this on to:

Jane

Louise

Lulu

Sally-Ann (check out her fab doodles)

Maria

& Caz

Phew ! That took me ages to post lol. Looking forward to seeing your photos girls :o)

Friendship Tag Card

I love this card! Isn't it great when you make something you REALLY like lol.

This was made for the Willow Sketchie which was a bit of a puzzler at first & got me thinking. The theme is "Back to Basics" & Sharon is asking that we keep the layout as basic as possible - she doesn't want to see any matting an layering... just the bare essentials. Luckily with these gorgeous Basic Grey papers you don't need too much else. Ooh there was a twist to the challenge too... to create a hidden message. I made a tag with the meaning of a Friend on. The image is my VERY favourite Willow Designs stamp (I love lots of them especially the fairies) which I coloured in with Prismacolor pencils, added a touch of glitter & inked the edge.

Over at Secret Crafter Saturday challenge there challenge is "1,2,3" - 1 image, 2 papers & 3 embellishments: I used a ribbon, a brad & a gem :o)

PS. Sorry for the blurry photos I will try & take some better ones later.

Inspirational Card Sketches DT Call

Now me I love making cards with sketches, they give me sooo much inspiration. Therefore I would love to be on a Sketch DT so when I heard that Dawn is starting a new sketch challenge blog "Inspirational Card Sketches" & is looking for a DT I just had to apply (though looking at the other entries I did have 2nd thoughts but I thought nothing ventured, nothing gained & you've got to be in it to win it lol).

I made this card with Dawn's fab sketch using papers from Designs by Krista's Blossom & Bloomin' kits (these are my favourite kits by Krista). I kept it quite simple just using a couple of flowers, a button, ribbon & heart charm (attached with jump rings). I also added the lil birdie but I'm not sure if I like it better with or without the bird hence the 2 photos.

Penny Black Birthday Card

I made this card for the Penny Black challenge which this week is "Lets Get Dotty". It was soo nice to join this challenge again as I haven't been able to for what seems like ages. The gorgeous spotty paper I used is from one of Kaboodle Doodles fab new kits coming soon (the Kaboodle Doodles challenge blog is being given an overhaul so watch this Space!)and for the Stamp Something challenge which is "Birthday Somethings".

This gorgeous Penny Black stamp is called Cinnamon & is one of my favs. she is coloured in with pearly paints. I added some punched flowers & gems. The cute lil cupcake is a Willow Designs stamp.
Sorry about the quality of the photo I'm thinking my hand is not as steady as I thought lol.

100th Birthday Card

I was asked to make this card for a patient who is 100 on Wednesday (I work in a Drs Surgery).

At first I was a bit stumped, not sure what sort of design to use but then I thought you can't really go wrong with flowers (hopefully). I chose sketch #4 from Card Positioning Systems (it's readers choice this week you can choose from any previous sketches, there are 99 to choose from!). I used images from "The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady" which were free with my Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine a while ago, the gorgeous backing paper is by Laura Ashley & I finished the card off with a ribbon & a greeting printed on to cream card.

Willow Sketchie

I made this card last night but it was too late to Blog it so I'm doing it quickly now before I go to work. It was made using the this week's fab Willow Sketchie I haven't had time to join this challenge for a while but I am now really trying to find to do more crafting (it's so much fun & stress relieving too).

The papers are Basic Grey & the Fairy stamp is one of my favourite Willow Designs which I coloured in with my Prismas & Sakura glitter pens. I've not used her for a while so it was nice to ink her up again. I finished off with a covered chipboard star & some punched stars, flowers & a brad.

PS. I went back to scanning my card today cos it's way to dark to take a photo.

Basic Grey Fab Free Digi Download :o)

The Basic Grey Challenge this week is to use one (or all) of the 3 digi downloads designed by the very talented Kim. I coloured the image in with my Prismacolor pencils blended with Sansodor. The papers are from the Basic Grey "Cupcake" collection. The sketch is this from 2 Sketches 4 You & the theme for the Secret Crafter challenge this week is "Hearts". I added a chipboard heart covered with same BG paper. & finished off with some flowers & a heart brad.

2 Challenge Card & A Pencil Holder

I am really enjoying using my new stuff I got for Christmas. This card is using my new Rachelle Anne Miller Stamp. The papers are from the "Ladies of Leisure" pack by The English Paper Company. The swirly stamps are new too & I added some sticky lace, flower stickers from K & Co & a felt flower with a Defining Moment greeting.

The sketch is from Friday Sketchers & the challenge on A Spoon Full of Sugar is "Paper Piecing" & as you can see I've paper pieced her dress with the same papers.
I used my camera this time in the hope that my pictures look better than they usually do (fingers crossed).

I am really pleased with this holder I made for my Prismacolour pencils. I used a Cup a Soup box as a template & added another chipboard charm covered with Basic Grey paper attached with jump rings & finished it off with a couple of flowers with brads.

Lily the Fairy Contest

Well I just love fairies so I had to enter this contest over on the Pink Cat Studio Blog - there is a cute image of Lily the Fairy to print out & use for a card. I used the sketch from Just Christmas & Birthday cards & the papers are Dovecraft's Fantasy. I coloured Lily with pearly paints & Sakura glitter gel pens, added ribbon & a greeting from Whiff of Joy.

Basic Grey Keyring

I made this simple lil keyring using a few jump rings & some chipboard shapes covered with gorgeous Basic Grey Infuse papers and my crop-a-dile to add the eyelets. The Basic Grey challenge is chipboard so this fits perfectly. Also the Everybody-Art-Challenge is "Everything but a Card" & the Saturday Challenge is "Anything but a Card".

Time to Get Fit & 3 Challenges

Right! I've decided I need to do more exercise & eat healthier but I don't think I can give up cakes cos I love them so much lol. I will definately try & cut down though & I'm hoping if I step up the exercise I can still indulge a lil. All my exercise videos are videos & that's the problem we now have no video player so I've been looking on e-bay & have ordered a couple of new DVD's. All I need to do now is get motivated...

On to the card; this was made using the fab sketch from Sketch Saturday, the Papertake challenge this week is "Spots, dots or circles" (I have dots on the coffee pot, cup & saucer & the greeting is a circle) & the first challenge at Charisma Cardz is "Pink" I hope this card will be eligible it has pink but there is also brown ;o).

I used my gorgeous new Basic Grey papers from the lovely Linda, which I inked, the stamps I won on the Just Christmas & Birthday Cards challenge blog which I coloured in with Sakura glitter pens (& water). The card is finished off with brads & a stamped greeting.

Happy 1st Birthday Abigail & 2 Challenges

First I must wish my darling lil grand-daughter Abigail a very happy 1st birthday :o)

Thank goodness for a day off today I'm fed up with biking to work in the freezing cold & as yesterday was the first all day (9.00am - 6.30pm) that I've worked since the Tuesday before Christmas it came really hard & I was soo tired but at least I have today off to re-charge my batteries lol & I even managed to fit in a bit of crafting - Hoorah!

This card was made using the Jehkotar sketch & the theme of "Violet" from the ABC challenge. I love this stamped image from Linda & I coloured her in with my new Prismacolor pencils. The paper is Pink Petticoat & I finished the card off with ribbon, flowers & brads.

Monday 5 January 2009

First Card of 2009

Wow what a busy week it's been we've had our son Craig & grandson Ryan to stay for the week (unfortunately his partner Zoe & their little girl Abigail had to stay at home cos Abigail was poorly). The week has gone so quick & I'm absolutely shattered lol but I thoroughly enjoyed it . I've just finished taking the Christmas decorations down, hoovering & clearing up etc

Luckily I managed to fit a challenge in. This is the first time I've entered the Magnolia V's Stampvie challenge which this week is to make a Thank You card using the sketch provided. I used this fab Tilda image given to me by my dear friend Linda, my new Martha Stewart punch, flowers & a stamped greeting. I coloured Tilda in using my new Prismacolor pencils which I love. (I can't remember where the papers are from).
